Poured from a bottle into a taster glass.
L - Pours a clear straw color with a minimal white head, that dissipates quickly.
S - Smells like a white wine.
T - Starts tart and funky, with some white grape, and finishes dry.
F - Medium body and carbonation.
O - Really nice mixed culture ale.

one of my favorite beers i have had all year, a wild saison with dandelion flowers and a special one shared with us by our awesome neighbors, who brought it back from north carolina, knowing i would love it. its super pale beer, almost green yellow in color, fizzy white head settling back fast and rather dense looking with sediment for its ultra low alcohol content. i like this being so low, and i have liked it in other fonta flora beers. it smells absolutely amazing, i get the yellow polleny dandelion flowers right away, like almost pulpy, so fresh, it really is forward. behind it are subtle tea notes, bacterial tartness and wild funkiness, i am starting to get to know their house culture a bit, and i really appreciate it in this one, so floral and farmy, perfect with the dandelion. the flavor is the same as the nose, incredibly use of the flowers, they really lead the flavor journey, some bitterness, an herbaceous intensity, almost like the dandelion greens too, some hops as well, very compatible, and the rustic funk, which makes this for me. the flowers are so natural and fresh, its one of a kind. dry and sort of oaty or something, raw unmalted wheat maybe, its pretty subtle on the malt, bone dry, but some structure for sure too. nice carbonation, it sings on the palate giving even more life to these flowers. a total highlight of the beer year for me so far, amazing stuff, unforgettably delicious and impossibly unique!

Appearance - Pours very light yellowish with thin white head that quickly dissipates.

Aroma - Very light citrus aroma, light funk not getting much else.

Taste - Nice tart lemon, just a hint of funk, light bready flavor with a nice floral finish.

Feel - Light bodied, well carbonated tart dry finish.

Overall - A really tasty light beer.

750 mL bottle. Hazy with an ample white head. Smell is a little grassy and vegetal. Smells kinda unpleasant, really. Taste is also vegetal and grassy. Some floral sweetness with a light lemon tartness in the finish. Light body with crisp carbonation. Way too much of that grassy flavor.

Initially pours transparent, very clean aroma with a bitter floral note. Tasty but lacking in dynamism. That said, as we got to the second half of the bottle it became a distinctly different beer; hazy, far more herbal, a pleasant wildflower field funkiness, a more substantial mouthfeel. Definitely requires a bit of a swirl / agitation as so much of the tastiness seemed to settle out.

This is the first Fonta Flora beer i've had that has been anything impressive, but it makes up for every other dud in so many ways.
Its funky, skunky, floral, lactic, lemony... but with everything coming in at different parts and in such an enjoyable moderation.

Appearance: The beer arrives with a cloudy goldenstraw color; the head is modest, with a few strips of lacing hanging around

Smell: Bready, with herbal, green pepper tones

Taste: Bready, up front, with the taste of dandelion greens building through the middle; finishes dry and somewhat funky

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Not being a huge fan of the dandelion green flavor, I don't really care for the flavors they impart in this beer; still, I find it fascinating and well worth a try

Had on-tap at the Fonta Flora 10 tap event at Thirsty Monk Asheville.

A- Pours a medium golden color with a 1/4 inch whit head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Not-so-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.

S- Moderate amount of Brett funkiness with some citrus notes of lemon and pear.

T- The Brett is even lighter in the flavor but still noticeable enough to keep things interesting. There's also a mild but complementary hop bitterness. Light, Bready malt provides just enough substance to keep the flavor profile from becoming watery or mundane.

M- Slightly tangy from the yeast and hops. Medium carbonation and a light body.

O- Great super sessionable Saison with just enough Brett kick and malt/hop backing.
