Canned on 12/19/2022. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a slightly hazy, golden straw color with a small ecru-colored cap and minimal lacing. A big, dank nose featuring grapefruit rind, lemon peel, pine needles, onion, and floral hops with some tropical fruit notes deep in the background. The taste is super dank and weedy with tart, bitter citrus battling it out with resinous pine and woodsy, earthy, spicy hops. The Amarillo and Simcoe hops exert a strong influence over the Citra and Mosaic but as it warms a bit there are hints of red berry and tangerine. It has a solid mouthfeel with appropriate carbonation, and the 8.5% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, Double Hop Beard has the citrusy bitterness of a classic WCIPA but it's distinguished by a dank, earthy, herbal presence.

Picked up a 16 oz single from the Blue Door Bottle Shop 3-31-22 for $5.25. Canned 3-15-22; consumed 6-18-22.
Beer poured golden with a fairly flat head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is very nice, dank city, with grapefruit and pine being front and center.
Taste follows the nose with a larger pale malt base that the brewer expresses the use of mosaic, amarillo, and citra veru nicely. Grapefruit, orange, and mango come across with the base and finishes with a nice piney bitterness; 7/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and comes across as quaffable and refreshing.
Overall a lot of good elements going on here that make this brew dangerously drinkable. Will need to pick up a four-pack down the road!

I got a can of this beer from my bestie from Charlotte, North Carolina. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had dank apricot fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter apricot peach and stone fruit presence mixed with hints of pine and floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Lightly hazed bronze with a thin finger of near-white head that quickly settles into a wisp and crown, leaving only modest lacing.
Pine, pepper, cat pee and light tropical fruit in the nose.
Nice piney bitterness in the taste; more of the restrained fruitiness; a hint of dark toastiness; and some honey sweetness.
Syrupy mouthfeel with prickly carbonation.
Great, old-school flavors in this, with an excellent balance of piney bitterness and fruity-honey sweetness. It’s great to have a beer you can see through, too.

Enjoyed on tap at the Dive Bar tap takeover.
A - Poured into a tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a thick white head that fades to leave light lacing and a thin blanket.
S - Aromas of big herbal spicy earthy notes, vegetative and pine. Enormous onion notes, flashes of citrus peel.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of slightly sweet malts followed by earthy herbal tea notes and light pine. Finish is lingering citrus. Even the taste has an onion like flavour. Ugh.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, alcohol hidden very nicely.
O - Overall this was a very disappointing beer. The nose on this pour was just dreadful. Looks and feels real good though...

Pours a beautiful slightly hazy burnt orange color with a sudsy light tan head. Dank citrus aromas dominate the nose, and there’s also a significant malt aroma.
The malt is even more pronounced on the taste and is a perfect complement to the dank tropical hop flavors that include juicy oranges and passion fruit. This is absolutely delicious - I wish I’d purchased a keg of it.
My first beer from these guys, I’ll be back for bunches more.

@ Fonta Flora
Mostly clear gold with a thick, stubborn fluffy off-white head on top. Sticky fruity hop aromas: pineapple, grapefruit, and mango with a moderate herbal, weedy dankness and some spiciness. Flavors of juicy citrus, melon, green pine, and leafy hops. A grainy sweetness behind the hops almost pushes this into the realm of “too sticky” – fairly heavy too for the ABV. Bitter and slightly astringent. A strong, green, aggressively hoppy DIPA that could benefit from a drier, lighter feel. A good, solid example of the style, I was just surprised it was such a sipper.

Appearance: Arrives with a massive head capping the clear copper colored liquid; sheets of lacing run down the side of the glass
Smell: Floral and tropical fruit tones
Taste: The caramel malt base builds but is quickly subsumed by the tropical fruit flavors of pineapple and guava; some orange tones build in the middle, as does the bitterness, though the caramel lingers into the finish underneath
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some warmth from the ABV
Overall: A very nice DIPA; a bit lighter in the citrus and heavier in the malt than I prefer, but still quite good
