Appalachian, wild ale
After a three-year hiatus, this house favorite wild ale was aged on local red heart plums courtesy Barbie farms of Concord, North Carolina. Perhaps our favorite fruit to marry with our wild ale base. This year’s vintage is not to be missed. 100% bottle conditioned.

Foggy burnt orange with a clear bubbly head that dies instantly.
A nose of lactic funk with a touch of pie crust shifts to a harshly acidic palate that exhibits nondescript notes of stonefruit.
Fairly disappointing.

Batch #6 bottles 2/23.
Pours a light red color with a 3F head in a tulip.
Tart aroma of Brett, more fruit with warming.
Not too tart- just enough- milder Brett taste and pungency than other beers in the style.
The plum taste comes out with warming.
It’s important to swirl the left over beer in the bottle before pouring to enhance the taste.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, blue session. Peachy pink color with white head. Aroma has a lactic fruitiness, milky but clean. Taste is sour, acidic, astringent, really dry, mouth puckering.
