Notes:
Appalachian Apple Saison brewed with local @wncmalt grain, house smoked local barley with local apple wood from #foxgapfarms and fermented with our mixed saison culture. Fermented a second time with the addition of hand pressed, certified organic apple juice from Fox Gap Farm and aged on locally foraged spice bush twigs. Fermented a third time in the bottle for a beautifully conditioned saison.

Appearance: Oops we have a gusher (2 year old bottle) that settles down eventually and pours a cloudy honey color with a one finger head that leaves a lot of splashy lacing (would rate higher but for the overflow)
Smell: Lightly smoked wood, green apple and phenolic yeast tones
Taste: Tart green apple combined with the smoked applewood flavors; tart, lemon citrus tones, through the middle, with a spicy, moderately sour finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: An interesting twist, with the lightly smoked flavors complementing the green apple; very rustic

Thanks Chris!
Yellow body, hazy, with a soapy white head that coats the tulip with sticky lacing. Super funky apples, apple skin, funk, assorted stone fruit, brett, oak. The best sort of funk. Why we the ratings so low? This is great stuff. Unique and tasty.

The smell took me a few minutes to identify. I am getting gourmet pickles, little off putting but interesting. Flavor is tart pickled apples with pickling juice. I am curious to see if anyone else is getting the same thing. Curious Farmhouse Ale for sure. I will not be revisiting.

Another delicious beer by Fonta Flora. I was hesitant at first because I'm not huge on cider or that characteristic present in beer, but this is delightful. The apple is subtle and complements the beer adding extra tartness and complexity without taking over the beer. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel.
