Very Good
Notes: Brewed in collaboration with our friends @farmandsparrow of Candler, North Carolina. Created with local grain Frisian rye bread, malted heritage rye, raw heritage rye and fermented with our mixed house cultures with Virginia maple syrup and organic raisins.

look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Appearance: We have a gusher but I am going to give it a pass as this should have been consumed long ago; pours clear and golden colored with a fizzy head that fades away; no lacing

Smell: Bready with a tart lemon character; a vague hint of sweetness from the maple syrup and raisin adjuncts

Taste: Rye bread forward with an earthy tone; lemon tartness builds, through the middle; the maple and raisin are hinted at, in the finish, though the other flavors dominate

Mouthfeel: Light bodied but the carbonation has fallen off - again, I am giving this a pass due to age

Overall: Despite the age and the impact mentioned above, this is a very tasty kvass

Tart, effervescent, and very unique tasting (in a good way). Fonta Flora is the brewery that introduced me to this style and I've really enjoyed both of the ones they've done so far.

This was the surprise beer of the night. Given to me as an extra in a trade from a fellow BA who wanted to showcase what Fonta Flora had to offer.

A lovely mix of tartness and bready/malty/earthy flavors that came together quite nicely in a simple, sessionable summer beer.
