Mashed with local two row barley courtesy of Riverbend Malt House and raw cateto orange corn courtesy of Red Tail Grains. Fermented cool with our preferred lager yeast strain until bone dry. Lagered extensively until crisp and crushable. While drinking the first batch of LJL, our brewers fell in love with the beer with a subtle addition of salt and lime. So as an ode to Mexican-style lagers, we added fresh, house zested limes and sea salt for an unbeatable thirst quenching beach lager perfect for the shores of Lake James.

From the 12 fl. oz. can dated 08132019. Sampled Jan , 2020.
It pours like lager with its yellow color and decent clarity. Quick lived white head.
Yes, the lime is notable in the aroma but there is little else that blows me away. Some bread and biscuit. Some floral hops. Nothing special.
Light to medium body.
Sweet. Biscuit. Floral Hops with a lime bite. Really it is pretty basic.

A: Pours a clear pale to medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering about 95% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready + cereal grain malts with moderate amounts of corn adjuncts and light to moderate amounts of sweetness. Hints of grassy + spicy hops as well as light aromas of fresh lime citrus.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + cereal grain malts and moderate amounts of corn adjuncts that contribute a just shy of moderate amount of sweetness. There are light flavors of fresh lime citrus without any additional citrus sweetness and just a hint of tartness. That is followed by very lights flavors of grassy + spicy hops that contribute a light amount of bitterness which lingers for a short amount of time and finishes clean.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp and clean.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable and one of the better examples of craft light lagers from NC brewers and the addition of the lime makes this a perfect beach/pool beer. Definitely sessionable and I could easily have a couple of these.
