A bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout conditioned on traditional gingerbread spices which include fresh ginger, ceylon cinnamon, vanilla, allspice and clove. For this year's blend, we went easier on the ginger and favored the other baking spices to really set off the cookie vibe.

Appearance: Frankly, looks like a cup of coffee from a French Press - espresso colored with no head
Smell: Gingerbread and chocolate soaked in Bourbon; strong on the ginger and the cinnamon
Taste: The chocolate and Bourbon lurch forward with the gingerbread spices burgeoning; very angular, with the ginger and cinnamon dominating, after the swallow; there is a rubbery aspect to the after-taste
Mouthfeel: Full bodied but flat
Overall: I love Fonta Flora's fruited sours and most of their stouts but this one was a real disappointment

Poured from bottle. Smell is heavy on the spice. The flavor is brutal. It tastes like a fruitcake that was converted to a Christmas candle. Completely unbalanced and not drinkable.

6oz pour on draft.
Look - pitch black, very little head. Thin ring of caramel bubbles.
Smell - heavy ginger bread smells. Cloves and all spice.
Feel - thick, decadent mouth feel. Like chocolate milk or a latte.
Taste - like a dirty chai. Strong cloves and ginger with cinnamon. Keeps similar profile from start to finish.
Overall - awesome seasonal beer. Would be great after a cold day in the snow. Not a basic or casual sipper. Very unique taste and good experience.
