Poured at fridge temp. Pour very black with a little bit of light brown head. The nose is a nice mix of nutmeg and chocolate. It's tough to get much else at this point. Tough to know if the barleywine or stout is more influential.

The taste is really nice. Nutmeg, lots of bourbon, chocolate, toffee, raisins, port, and a hint of red licorice. Very nice - not too sweet. The ABV is well hidden.

Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The aftertaste is sweet nutmeg and chocolate sauce. Great beer!

My second beer from this brewery; the first one underwhelmed. Hopefully this 750ML, black-waxed bottle will be better.

The pour is black unless held up to the light, when it might be slightly less black with sunny red streaks. The nose is mostly nutmeg: oh oh.

Coracoid is a (pauses for the surrealness of the phrase) nutmeg bomb. NUTMEG. Is nutmeg good for shoulder bones? I don’t get it, & if so, my shoulders are set for life. The theoretical cocoa & barrel are subsumed & only faintly imagined. A quick shot would have been enough.

I’m going to be tasting nutmeg with my chocolate donut tomorrow. That heavy hand of spice – brewers make the same mistake repeatedly. Not a good beer at all, unless you mainline nutmeg for fun.

Super dark opaque brown pour with a tan cap that settles into a thick collar. Smell has the cocoa and nutmeg dancing on top of deep caramel malts, barley, bourbon, plum, fig, molasses, leather and earthy tobacco. Taste isn't as integrated, where you first get the rich BA barleywine and then the adjuncts with some lingering barley. The spices are cumulative in the feel, otherwise rich, full, with great barrel(s) character. Thinking the non cocoa/nutmeg version would be even better!
