Style: Irish Red Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Rollin Dirty Red Ale, our Irish-style Ale possesses a deep amber color. It displays a forward caramel aroma with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts. English hop varietals lend a floral to herbal bitterness which helps to round the carmel sweetness and lend some crispness to this year round ale.

Appearance; color is a beautiful, clear, ruby.A steady stream of bubbles rise to the surface constantly, beer pours a huge amount of head that settles quite quickly, to leave a ring of lacing that tightly hugs the glass.

Smell; aroma is quite mild, but very pleasant. Herbal notes and hints of malty caramel.

Taste; The flavor is quite mild yet very complex. upfront is english tea, slight fruity flavor follows and carries you right into stout like flavors of coffee, caramel and chocolate. the flow of flavors is absolutely poetic.

Mouthfeel; light body, light carbonation, refreshing but not quite juicy.

overall; This is a very unique beer, in the best way. i've never had a beer that carried obvious, classic malt flavors of caramel and chocolate that was so light and drinkable. Amazing balance. will certainly buy again.

Poured from a 12 oz can dated 2-13-15. Poured fine.
Smelled like vinegar.
Tasted like tin dipped in vinegar.

-can spiegelau ipa glass. Brewed and canned by Cigar City.

A: Deep burgundy coloring with a translucent quality and macro-effervesce. Dirty tan head, slight in size and retention. Clean window dressing.

S: Scotchy caramel aroma, followed by some light fresh chocolate malt. Fresh flowers, nice awareness and staying power.

T: Scotchy caramel flavor, slightly sweet upfront, dried honey malt, toffee, dry flowery citrus and toasty speciality grains. Spicy hops interject with some lemony and woodsy notes, cypress and pine, meeting sweetly toasted grains, and a bit of spicy alcohol on the finish.

M: Malty full body, syrupy texture, good level of carbonation.

O: Overall sweetly toasted backing with an american amber citrusy flower hops. Alcohol is nicely balanced. Drinks like a cross between an american amber and scotch ale.

A: The beer is clear brownish red in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high beige head that quickly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts, toasted malts and toffee are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather malty and is mostly filled with flavors of caramel malts and toffee. Slight bits of tea are noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems to be a lot maltier compared to other beers that I've had in the style.

One of the best Irish Reds I've had. Carmel and chocolate flavors compliment the Mild English style hops. A must get.

Acquired from Cuzco so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, honey, tea and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, honey and tea. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is decent for the style and provides a good balance. There’s a little bit of chocolate in the background. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to pound down for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Good looking beer, dark red, probably call it burgundy. Decent head with strong lacing on the glass. Strong malty aroma, some caramel and slight roast. Flavor was muted, I was hoping for more following the aroma, but certainly not bad. Decent feel, not exactly creamy but certainly not thin. Overall this is a pretty good beer, not sure why it is getting banged so hard in the ratings. Not special, but good.
