Presentation: 12 oz. can with no dates. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass.

Appearance: The one finger head stays around for a while and leaves behind some small, patchy lacing. It's a crystal clear gold color with a slight pink tint.

Smell: It has a faint, fruity blueberry aroma, with sweet, earthy wheat and grain notes in the background.

Taste: It's sweet, fruity and mostly blueberry with a hint of cream and vanilla. There's also a soft, grainy wheat flavor in the finish with a hint of hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: It's smooth and creamy at the beginning but ends with a crisp and refreshing high carbonation bite. It's a bit cloying because of the sweetness, but it's light bodied so that doesn't take away that much from the experience.

Overall: Even though the blueberry is very present in the nose and palate, it's not a one-dimensional beer in any way. There's interesting notes everywhere and even the texture is not boring at all; which is a surprising for a fairly light beer.

Brew Bus Brewing "You're My Boy, Blue!"
12 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating.
$2.19 @ ABC Fine Wine & Spirits #139, Wildwood, FL

Look: Hazy amber body topped by a short lived head of white. Limited head retention and lacing.

Smell: Berry-like and sweetish, including blueberry but not limited to it.

Taste: Berry-like and sweetish backed by a firm golden malt base. It's sweet but not too sweet and a moderate bitterness balances it and brings it to a mainly dry finish. Brewed with both real blueberries and natural flavors it still somehow fails to truly display blueberry in its character.

Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.

Overall: An enjoyable and refreshing beer for summer.

A: Copper color, large 2 inch off white head, no lacing
S: Blueberry, bread, cracker
T: Sweetnees, blueberry, bread, not much in the way of hoppiness but thats ok with this style
M: Light
O: Decent blueberry ale. I like this style and it was a pretty good one. I really like the bready, maltiness, it almost has a blueberry cobler taste.

Not what I expected when I bought this beer. This beer does not look the part of a blueberry ale. It looks like a pale ale or a hefeweizen. The taste is okay but that is not blowing me away either. I see what they are going for but this is not really my thing. Well hey at least they put real blueberries into this beer & not artificial blueberry flavor. As far as local brews go I prefer Two Henry's Blueberry Vanilla Wheat over this concoction. C'mon local breweries you can do better than this. Cheers! C

I somehow veered onto a Fruit(ed) Beer kick on The CANQuest (tm) in the past couple/few days & I want to CANtinue the trend while I CAN.

From the CAN: "Hop on for the ultimate craft beer experience!"; "Hop on for the Ultimate Craft Beer Experience on The Brew Bus! From brewery tours and tasting to corporate events and bachelor(ette) parties, the Brew Bus offers a once in a lifetime experience for everyone. Our tour guides are experienced and knowledgable, and our staff is friendly and accommodating. Hop On the Brew Bus Today!"; "You're My Boy, Blue! is our Blueberry Wheat Ale brewed with Pacific Gem hops and real blueberries. Once it hits your lips it's so good."

I was unsure about clarity and/or color with this one, but since it a Wheat Ale at base, cloudiness was not out of the question. Upon Crack!ing it opened, it revealed another brimful craft CAN & I celebrated with an inverted Glug. This resulted in just over a finger of dense, foamy, pinkish-white head with decent retention that slowly fell to wisps, leaving nice lacing behind. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy reddish-Amber (SRM = N/A). If the previous beer reminded me of buckwheat pancakes with blueberry syrup, this was straight up blueberry pancakes! Mmm. Blueberries, doughy wheat malt, mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was likewise liquefied blueberry pancakes. This was no artificial nonsense, but instead, the taste of real fruit fermented into beer. It was lightly tart, not overly sweet, which made it all the more refreshing. Finish was semi-dry & left me with a pleasant blueberry flavor to CANtemplate.

A thanks to the champion of canned beers, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, blueberries. Taste is blueberries, but little of the sweetness in the aroma. Some wheat is present, dry at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Well this isn't very good. It pours a dark peach / plum color. Aroma is a blue raspberry slush puppy. Flavor is artificial blueberry with a very light carbonated wheat flavor. Overall this tastes like someone dumped a blue raspberry slushy in an a blue moon.

Poured at 42°F from a 12oz can (canned on 17Jun15) into a nonic pint glass. Consumed on 30Jan16.
LOOK: Pours with a fingers worth of white foam that dissipates into a quarter fingers worth after 1 minute and 20 seconds. Peach amber in color with a high amount of cloudiness. Rising bubbles are both small and medium in size and moderate in quantity. Lacing is thin and subtle.
SMELL: Mild aromas of blueberries are evident up front. They are both tart and sweet, with the latter being slihtly stronger. Subtle wheat aromas and hints of wooden notes and lemony zest are also present.
TASTE: Mild blueberry flavors enter initially. Unlike the aroma, the flavors of the blueberries are an equal amount of sweet, bitter, and tart. Subtle wheat and lemony zest flavors immediately follow the blueberry flavors. Subtle wooden notes finish off the taste profile as wheat and lemony zest flavors persist, but blueberry flavors fade to subtle.
FEEL: Light-bodied and moderately carbonated. Goes down somewhat smooth. Finishes extremely crisp.
NOTE: Not a bad beer, but the flavors were too weak. This was sessionable and refreshing. Something I definitely wouldn't mind trying again.

Poured from a can into a Tervis cup. I'm going to rate this through my wife's eyes. I tasted it and didn't like it but it is a fruit and wheat beer, both styles which I don't like. My wife is a blueberry fan and she seemed to enjoy this offering. She's had better from Boston Beer Works and Portsmouth Brewery but she's had far more worse. If you like that style I'd say its worth a try.

Acquired from Cuzco so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep purple-amber color, with a thin pink head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains blueberries, wheat, light caramelized malts and a very faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with a tart burst of blueberry flavor that is followed by some breadiness from wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. There’s a lot less sweetness than most blueberry beers. The hops presence is very mild but it brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly tart and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: A little tasty, goes down easily once you get used to the odd color, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink if you want a blueberry without the typical sweetness.

A: The beer is very hazy bluefish purple in color. It poured with a finger high purple head that died down, leaving specks of lacing on the surface.
S: Light aromas of wheat are present in the nose along with hints of berries. The berries seem to get a little stronger as the beer warms up.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of wheat along with notes of blueberries. The berry flavor seems to taste more like unripe blueberries or blueberry skins. No sweetness is perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Unfortunately, the appearance is the best part of this beer and the smell and taste are lacking.

Poured from a can to a stange glass; canned on 04/25/2014.

Pours a cloudy muddled purple/red body. Very fluffy soap bubble reddish head, dissipated fairly quick and left very little lacing in the glass.
Getting a grassy fruity aroma with a little of the wheat in there as well.
Taste up front is very light blueberry and just a hint of it at the end. Some hop bitterness is there as well.
Drinks very easy, as it should at 5%. Finishes like a fruit tea: a little sweet at first, but very clean and refreshing on the end.
Not a blow you away, knock your socks of beer, but I had to pick up a sixer while down here in Florida. Not a beer I would seek out again, but a really tasty beer for a hot day.

Brew Bus Brewing: You're My Boy Blue! Blueberry Wheat Ale

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Cigar City shaker pint glass. Served chilled.

A) A cloudy purplish looking brew with a pinkish purplish looking head. Maybe a finger which settled to a collar. No lacing...

S) Really not much to the nose here. Like a beer that's been sitting around with some blueberry preserves in it. Not offensive to the sense of smell.

T) I pick up more of the wheat in the flavor. Slightly herbal and grassy. A fair amount of blueberry. Not sweet at all. Okay aftertaste...

M) Light bodied with minimal carbonation. Feels a little flat to me.

O) Not a drain pour by any means, but if this was a kid, he or she would be getting picked close to last for the kickball team.

Poured from the can into a long tulip glass.

Deep purple eggplant color, quite dark but not too much. Light pink head and thin retention with a nice thick collar ring. Some scattered lacing among the glass too.

Fruit forward with a spicy quality. Good blueberry juice senses and hintingthe at strawberrythe but not much else. No sense of wheat depth or dough like malt. Quite soft and nice aromas.

Good fruit tastes for the blueberry angle on first sip. Light bodied but not too fizzy. Missing some chewy depth quality but a great fruit body almost like crunching on seeds. Quite jammy tasting also, but definitely more fruit than malt going on here, and gets into fruit punch territory.

Overall its quite memorable but misses some of the wheat depth that I enjoy.

Sample #5 at the (Cigar City) brewpub 1/29/14

The blueberry makes for an interestingly look. The color is mauve, with a light pink-tinged head on top. The head is a soft, white one with a little too much structure to call it spritzy but little height. That height is well maintained, though, and above-average lace legs out a bit.
It's simple and straightforward while showing strength and more than reasonable depth, considering. Dryish malts certainly show the prominence of wheat. It doesn't have the dryness of snap of cracked wheat, more a softer base. Blueberry isn't either too strong or too subtle while smelling and tasting fresh.
The feel has an even balance of crisp and smooth in a light-medium sort of body.
