A great porter from a small fish in the brewing world! It pours dark brown with a thin khaki head. The nose brings roasty malts with a hint of chocolate and earthy, herbal hops. The taste is chocolatey with toasted oats, nuts, and toffee. I find this to be simple and delicious with a medium mouthfeel.

Pours clear, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is cocoa, milk chocolate, and light creaminess. Average English brown ale with great body. Nt sure if I would get this one again.

12 oz can served in a snifter with a canning date of 16 Feb. 2015 on the bottom.

Excellent looking with a generous size, creamy/bubbly tan head that leaves the glass speckled.

The aroma has ample dark roasted grains with hints of hops, toffee and chocolate.

Flavor: perhaps slightly more hoppy than average, this has a mildly bitter flavor with some spiciness from the hops.

Feel: medium-full body; nicely smooth; medium carbonation.

12 oz can poured into brandy snifter canned on date of 10/16

A: Robust brown color not quite black small tight off white head

S: smells bready with roasty sweet malts some brown sugar and a little carmel

T: very nice roast and burnt sugars taste with a little coffee

M: Full for a porter it has a nice robust feel without being thick like a stout very great mouth on this one

O: This is a solid porter it hits all the right notes you are looking for in a porter it's malty, roasty, and the mouth feel is huge without being cloying. It is interesting to note the color us brownish on this versus pitch black like some

Canned on my sister's birthday 3/21/ (14)

Pours mahogany colored with 2 fingers of rocky mocha colored head. Stellar lacing & pretty good head retention

S: Cocoa & coffee, faint plum & smoky notes

T: Roastyness, carob, slight dark cherry notes, & dryness. Some plummyness, carob, a little bit of charred grain & coffee as this warms, slight roasty/boozey edge to this. Finishes dry, roasty & with some leafy hop notes & carob

MF: Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, carbonation gets a little more prickly as this warms

An alright porter, drinks easy enough

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a very dark brown color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of dark breads, some coffee. Taste is coffee, dark breads, cocoa, a bit of smoke. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.
