I've had this on tap at Ol in Walnut Creek and at the Faction Taproom in Alameda. Had never heard of Faction before trying it at Ol and after tasting this I knew I had to keep them on my radar. Hell, even went to the Taproom almost solely for this beer (and gourmet corn dogs, good god it's like they read my Tumblr!)

Appearance is great: nice lacing and head, bright orange hues. Really it's much more orange than yellow and I like that.

It smells great, too: I wouldn't say that it's the best smelling beer but it's very intoxicating (ha!) nevertheless. Citrusy and sugary and a bit of pine to it, but not a lot.

The two main draws to the beer are the taste and mouthfeel. The taste EXPLODES out of this beer, way past the smell of it, and it's fantastic. The best way I can describe it is like orange soda: tangy and fizzy and bubbly and sweet but with these wonderful floral and cirtrusy hops that finish with a little bit of pine. Actually, if you've ever been to So Cal and had Cactus Cooler? Reminiscent of that. And I mean this with HIGH praise. There is almost no bitterness at all to this beer, and it just makes your mouth feel warm and fuzzy and you just want to keep drinking it. Impossible to put down.

Overall this is a fantastic beer. It tastes so much better than many of the other hop bombs out there that they call double/triple IPA. I think whatever they're doing with the malts is what makes this beer so wonderful. Very strong backbone to this, mixed with the hop overload of citrus punch, make this very worth sampling, drinking, and enjoying as many times as you can.

Well done.

Faction makes some of the most underrated hoppy beers our there, in my opinion. And this is no exception.

Pours crystal clear with a bright orange color, no haze whatsoever. Smell is of sweet, sticky, pine and oranges.

The taste follows exactly, with a big pop of bitterness, but without being overfly sweet or too hot from the 10.5% abv.

Not quite Younger or Notorious, but very close in flavor profile and body.

Poured out at the brewery as a nice orange color with a white head on top. The smell of the beer had a very nice hop aroma to it, some subtle sweetness on the nose from the malt. The taste is well balanced with the malt bill and the hop bitterness. The feel of the beer was medium bodied. Overall I really enjoyed this one. It was the favorite that I've had from them during my trip to Oakland.

Had this on tap at a festival...but stopped by the brewery and picked up a growler....and talked to Rodger. Cool dude. Two days old....

Pours a relatively clear amber ale with a frothy one finger off-white head. Major sticky lacing.

The aroma is big on the pineapple, passion fruit, sweet malt, sticky-sweet candy, and pear. Yum.

The taste is on the sweeter side with a bit of hops on the swallow and another rush of sweetness on the aftertaste. Tangy. That's the word that keeps coming to mind. Some pine.

Mouthfeel is decent.

Overall this a definite sweet Triple IPA. The hops are there, but the sweetness is on display big time. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
