One of the must-hit spots along the "Bermondsey Beer Mile" in London. Got there just as it opened at 11:00 am on a Saturday so it wasn't busy yet. Really friendly service, the server offered some good recommendations. The DDH IPA I had would rival anything you could find in the states. On the weekend, make sure to walk north and hit the terrific street food market hidden away in a little alley on the same road.

Vibe: The place is located in an arched cavernous hangar-like space under the railroad viaduct. A small bar is located along one side and there are about half a dozen tables in the back.

Quality: Beers were served in pint glasses at the proper temperature.

Service: While the place wasn't that big, they had three people working behind the bar so service was very quick.

Selection: The place had six beers available on-tap. Flights of four beers were also available.

its crazy that so many good breweries are located along this beer mile. this space is another one of the arches, set up with the bar on the left as you walk in past what i assume is their cold box, and with the production all behind that. its a small taproom space with just a few tables, standing room only when we were in, sort of minimalist decor but a good selection of beers and plenty of people behind the little bar keeping up with high demand on a busy weekend afternoon. i am so in love with the beers i have had from them in the states, nice bottles saisons and wild beers of the utmost refinement and interest, so i was quite surprised to only be lukewarm on what was on tap when we were in. a fine mosaic clean saison and a dry nitro stout were the highlights, but the pils and the hoppy stuff was lackluster, even kind of bad, especially compared to such lofty expectations and having had beers down the way at kernel beforehand. seems odd that there could exist such a quality gap, but its the truth. the servers did a good job managing high volume, the place was neat and trendy, and i know they are capable of greatness so i wont judge our experience too harshly. im still pretty stoked on what they do, how they name and number their beers by style, and how they seem to be experimenting pretty consistently. worth checking out, but there beers on tap were less than stellar when i was in. a fun physical experience, but disappointing on the beer side this time around.
