You get a good whiff of ginger on the nose, but it's more subdued when you taste it. The ginger is there but it's perfectly placed, not overdone at all. Good carb and nice finish. I like this beer!

The ginger isn't as strong as I expected, but it's present throughout every stage. Think ginger ale rather than ginger beer. The overall character is actually pretty sweet. The wheat base seems to be a hefeweizen style. Nice, heavy palate. Some citric acidity from the wheat rounds out the sweetness.

12 ounce can - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina.

Appearance: Served up a clearish, golden-copper body in hue with a slim, near white head.

Smell: Strong ginger component in the aroma backed by a bit of tangy scented wheat.

Taste: A flash of toast and of wheat with a small sprinkling of sugar before moving forward to the ginger, strong as it was in the nose. A bit dominating, the ginger holds through and beyond the finish, leaving the taste kinda one-note.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.

Overall: I disliked it.

On tap at the 2016 NCBMF.

Enough ginger to be obvious but not so much as to be hot or harsh: well done.
Hazy light amber body with a good head.
Enticing, exotic aroma not quite dominated by ginger.
Medium body and carbonation.

COD 3/21/16. Slightly hazy medium amber pour, provided you decant. If you don't, it becomes quite cloudy. World class head volume, lacing and retention.

Light almost outstanding nose of ginger over a sweet malt base with notes of bready caramel.

Light body with a hint of oiliness. Nicely carbonated for the body with a light effervescent middle and a somewhat stronger finish.

The flavor profile is good. It lacks intensity and complexity, but is very well balanced. The main component is ginger, which is subtly in the forefront, over a base that hints at sweetness but never really asserts itself. As a result, this one comes off as a nice tasting form of bland. It is refreshing and the finish is a slow fading ginger spiciness.

Really enjoyed this one, much more than I thought. I think the amount of ginger is absolutely perfect, enough that it's there and an intregal part of the beer, but not so much that it totally dominates everything else. It still tastes like a beer, and went down quick and super smooth. Would be a great beer to drink with sushi.

It's nice - exactly what it says. A bit light on the wheat side but the ginger flavor here is great. Fresh, not that artificial note you can get in similar brews.

Honey colored, slightly cloudy with nice ginger aroma. It has a creamy mouthfeel and just the right amount of ginger spice. A great refreshing warm weather beer.

A slightly hazy orange pour yields a nose full of candied ginger and spices. The taste is sweet with ginger being the most prevalent. The ginger is perfectly balanced with a nice sweetness and finishes with a bit of bitterness and a nice heat from the ginger. I really am a big fan of ginger so I might be a little biased towards this flavor profile but for a 5% pale wheat I love it. Bring on summer and a cooler full of ice and this beer.
