I am a fan of nutty brown ales and reds. Usually porters are too rich or syrupy for me. However this beer gives me the satisfaction of being malty and well carbonated. The peanut butter cup flavor does not taste artificial. Smell is great. This is not a go to beer but very approachable for a twist on the norm.

A: dark brown, opaque, minimal head that dissipated quickly
S: Chocolate, peanut butter, and sweets. It doesn't strike me as "peanut butter cups", but I get the individual components.
T: Tastes nothing like the nose. It's watery and sour. It doesn't remind me of a porter or peanut butter cups. It's only 5.4% but feels like under 5%, uncharacteristically week. There are some notes of the chocolate in there, but it's like how you taste watered down soda when the ice in your drink melts. Not a fan.
F: Watery and week.
O: This was not as good as I was hoping. I don't think I'd get again.

This beer has a very strong peanut flavor, to its detriment. It focuses so strongly on that flavor that it ignores perfecting any underlying beer flavor. We wished that Barkley's had made a more balanced porter that struck multiple notes instead of just one.

Love the initial smell and taste of this beer. It is a fun beer for a can and then need to move on because it is not a 6 pack i want to drink.

12 oz. can:
Pours brown with a foamy head that lasts a bit. Some small lacing sticks.
The smell is of peanut butter with chocolate and roast.
The taste is of peanut butter with overroasted chocolate. The chocolate is powdery and on the burnt side. The finish is long. There is something a bit sour in the aftertaste.
An interesting novelty brew. It doesn't quite work as well as it should.

LOOKS: Very dark brown with a tan, one finger foam that quickly recedes. Very mild lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Smells like a dark chocolate resse's cup.
TASTE: I get a sweet sort of off flavor, almost meaty, and the smell has much more chocolate and peanut butter. Kind of nasty.
FEEL: Well carbonated, medium thin body, and mildly dry on the finish.
OVERALL: Needs tweaking on the flavor.
