Beer drinks almost like a bitter or a light ESB, except the finish is decidedly American influenced. Nice balance with a slightly spicy hop finish - maybe even a slight spice contribution from the rye malt? Good caramel qualities as well - definitely has enough malt backbone to support the hop character. My only knock on this beer is the benign nose. Really well done

On tap and served in a pint glass at The Hungry Monk in Prescott Arizona.
Look- A reddish brown color with a thin ring of off white foam.
Smell- Faint pine and malt. Pretty weak.....
Taste- A bit of pine, mild perfume, and rye in the finish.
Feel- Tingly to start with a dry finish.
Overall- Nothing special, easy to drink. A session type ale with a bit of rye spice.

A rye forward pale ale. It just screams rye. Solid malt backbone to support the chinook hops. Color is a nice amber with white head. Smell is spicy from the hops and rye. Taste follows the nose. Not the most drinkable pale ale, but then I don't think it is supposed to be. Reminds me of Firestone's Wookie Jack.

Poured a clear amber with a thin ring of white foam and abundant bubbles going up the glass. It looks quite nice. Scents of rye, lots of rye spiciness up front with a toasted quality and herbal hop aromas present as well. Some citrus and pine are faintly present in the background. A good aroma that showcases the rye used above all else. Flavor begins nicely bitter, with pine resin and a faint backbone of spicy rye and toasted malt. Moves into grapefruit peel and some more pine resin and finishes with a hit of bitter hops. There is a slight hint of toasted malt and rye in the background. Aftertaste is bitter and resinous hops with a hint of spicy rye. A good flavor profile that is very hop forward, to the point of almost drowning out the rye, but it is just strong enough to be detected. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a moderate level of prickly carbonation and a slightly drying feel. Quite easy to drink and rather refreshing. Overall this is a good pale ale that combines aggressive hops with spicy rye to make a beer that is quite nice to drink. It could use a bit more balance to make it excellent, but it is good nonetheless.
