A smooth, balanced beer with an assertive citrusy hop profile, a touch of caramel sweetness and color, and an appropriate malt backbone to support it.

Wets the whistle but that’s about it. Malt predominant. Some lacing. Week start to finish but palatable. Bread overwhelms.

Great little brewery in San Antonio, and this is a tasty regular offering.
Smells and tastes of crispy tasty hops, with a solid malty backbone. Not especially notable in any one category, but solidly delicious all around.

Poured from a can into a shaker pint. Golden yellow color with decent head and lacing. A fairly balanced fruity and piney IPA. A touch of earthy funk. Pretty good.

kind of an older school hop profile on this one, and balanced with some crystal type malt in here, still light and drinkable, but its nice to see breweries who arent chasing the haze craze still making classic ipa types, and i immediately appreciated this one for that. like a lot of their other beers though, the fermentation profile is not good, the beer has a chemical phenolic finish that disrupts what was otherwise a fine flavor trajectory, and it just seems like it was done way too warm, or that whatever yeast they are using in these beers just isnt any good. its a shame because the rest of it is right, balance hop bitterness with a fuller grain profile, fresh pine notes to the hops and a fresh oily sort of feel to it, lingering bitterness at the end. a simple clean california ale yeast or even a bready english one would make this a solid ipa, but the dish soapy ending is a problem. it was common in a lot of their beers, but its more problematic here in this ipa, as it really clashes with the hops. lots of potential here, but it too needs some work...

I had this on tap at the Southtown Pizzaria in San Antonio. It poured a dark amber with a nice creamy head that laced well throughout the beer. It smelled like a typical IPA. This bad boy shines in the taste department. Very smooth and crisp and very little bitterness. This one is more on the citrusy side and less on the piney. Overall I have to say this is one of my favorite IPAs Ive ever had.
