Hopdoddy Burger Bar - SoCo

 

Original location to the Anderson Ln spot. Essentially the same, except some how busier than the Anderson Lane location. Good burger, but not worth the ridiculous South Congress and tap list is usually pretty average.

 

Discovered this gem of a place on my 2nd day of moving to Austin. They have around 13 different burgers you can get and every one of them is fanstastic. They have something for everyone, including a tuna burger and even a veggie burger.
They serve many of their beers in big, globular frosted glasses that I think are just awesome. They have about 6 standard beers on tap and a couple rotating taps.
If you like margaritas and mixed drinks, the place has those too even though I have never tried them.
The South Congress location is so popular among people that it has long lines out the door almost every day, any given hour.
Their seating is a bit different and might need some getting used to. You're allowed in depending on how many tables are available for seating, otherwise you get to wait outside in line. They try to make it comfortable for you by having fans with misters blowing cool air at the people in line and a waiter designated to serve you water or beer while you're waiting.
Very friendly staff, I still see the same waiters that waited on me 2 years ago.
You pay about $6 for a beer and $9 or $10 for a burger but for the quality and quantity, I'd say it's totally worth it.
