22oz brown bomber, sample bottle from the brewery.

Creamy white lacing, brilliant copper clarity. Juicy throughout, big aroma and flavor of fresh citrus with a prickly bitterness. Hefty malt base show some bready and nutty undertones. Warming fruity alcohol in the middle. My palate knows there is 90-ish IBUs in this beer but again the malt does something ... balance. This is what and double IPA should be, its not just about the hops.

Super juicy, enormous dry hop flavor and aroma, Great thick body, maybe a touch to sweet but ill let it slide.

What can i say, this holds up against the big guns including Trillium. Dare i say best IPA in the south? This is wayyy better than houston haze, slightly better than DDH Envie.

Had this on tap at Great Raft brewing.

A - 4.25 - Nice amber color, not much in the way of a head.
S - 4.5 - Wow, lots of resinous pine, hops and dankness.
T - 4.75 - Can't believe how great this is. Extremely dank, was not expecting this. Reasonable amount of bitterness and pine along with that mary jane flavor that few IPA's are able to brandish. Really tasty.
F - 4.5 - Nice medium bodied mouthfeel.
O - 5 - I was extremely impressed with this IPA. Any IPA that manages to retain it's bitterness and not fall victim to the syrupy sweetness that so many doubles do, gets a high score from me.

When poured it raised a giant 4 finger had. Looks hazy, orange gold. The smell is pungent hops with grapefruit and pine. There is some citrus sweetness in there as well. Tastes sweet, citrus, bitter with pine and pith. Really solid beer.

Unique and refreshing DIPA! Milky sunlight color, fantastic aroma. Tastes like lemon, honeysuckle, floral and citrus.....really balanced and tightly composed. The brewers should be proud of this one. Frickin' succulent.

What a smell... Fresh mango pulp, lemongrass, and a touch of dankness.

Visually is lighter than I expected, but pots a nice hazy golden yellow with a white medium head.

Tasty stuff! Lots of fruit... some stone fruit and more mango with a slightly bitter grapefruit finish.

Mouth feel is thinner than I would expect from a double IPA with 8% but I'm not complaining here.

This is a very solid beer I'm glad to get my hands on here in Dallas.

Outstanding IIPA - bursting with citrus with faint notes of evergreens. Delicious from beginning to end. It's 8% ABV, but it feels lighter than it is, which can spell trouble if not careful.

A very nice DIPA from Louisiana. Doesn't have the Ghost in the Machine hype but it's excellent still and way more accessible. The amarillo and citra really come through, very well balanced.

This is more of an east coast DIPA than a west coast. Lots of caramel gives this a firm backbone to balance out the generous hopping upfront. At the tasting I was at, someone referred to this as a "session DIPA." I think that's fair. This will satisfy (most) hopheads, but if you're looking for something over-the-top west coast, this is not it. This is a nicely balanced DIPA with something for malt fans as well.

Grace and Grit is an exceptional DIPA. I can honestly say that I did not expect this brew to be this good. Pours a nice, golden, darker, copper color with a 1 finger head that dissipates quickly. You get a lot of pine needles, sap, and resin on the nose with some sweet alcohol at the end. Taste is a lot of the same. An excellent bouquet of pine and dankness cover the palate. Medium mouthfeel. An outstanding beer from a brewery that is doing great things.

From a large shared bomber bottle.

Appearance: Hazy amber body with a very durable head.

Flavor: Moderately strong and hoppy for style. A little boozy, especially for less than 8% ABV.

Pours a hazed straw color with one finger of ivory colored head. Stays hazed, great lacing & slightly better than average head retention

S: Orange slices, a little mango, doesn't quite deliver on the nose, the only shortcoming for this beer

T: Tangerine, grapefruit & orange up front, along with a little bready dryness & faint onion up front. Mango & grapefruit, along with dryness as this warms, a little pineapple as well lus just a little more onion. Finishes juicy, a little dry, with some grapefruit pith, complementary onion & just a little mango

MF: Medium body, a little coarse, subdued carbonation, lovely balance

Drinks too easy, a DIPA worth seeking out, already regret not buying more

L: bright, translucent gold. 1/2 inch white head dissipates quickly.
S: big fruity note here- pinnapple and mango.
T: light fruit up, some dankness at the end. Very dry finish.
F: nice body for the style/ well carbonation.
O: the noise on this is great but the overly dry finish distracts a bit for my taste. A very well DIPA that is worth the try.

Poured at avenue pub New Orleans from a two day old keg: brilliant orange with finger and a half white head. Nose is juicy with orange, grapefruit, and peach notes. Tons of mosaic. Taste is beautiful. Big juicy hops on the palate with the right amount of sweet malt to back it up. Finishes on a nice dank note. An exceptional IPA.
