An American-style kolsch. We brew this like a classic style kolsch, but then take a detour and dry hop it like an American IPA.

In short, Near and Far is a light, easy-drinking kolsch with beautiful dry hopped character not often seen with this style. Classic? No. Crushable? Yes.

Pours hazy, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is flowers, biscuit, and light citrusy hops. Sweet start with a dry bitter finish. One of the more bitter kolsch beers I have had but still not overly bitter. Tasty and light. Nice summer beer that I could have several of.

A: Poured into a Stange to a pale and clear straw yellow topped by a dense two finger head that retains well and leaves decent lacing
S: The nose on this one is really just straight citrus rind and hints of tropical fruits
T: Taste is citrus, a little bready malt, slight tropical fruit, and faint grape, Swallow is more citrus and topical fruit with some lingering dry maltyness
M: Fairly light in body but not watery with slightly prickly carbonation and a refreshing finish
O: Overall a very solid brew but not exactly a Kolsch. the american hop notes are out of place but not unwelcome. Interesting to try though.

to me, this is a great summer beer. this is something if it was canned I could sit out by the pool and drink too many before I even realized it.

Poured from tap, 1 finger head. Pale light golden to look at. Smells of grassy hops, with a little dankness creeping thru. Taste, boy what a surprise that first taste is, hard to describe, cause I can't recreate. A bold/ bitterness appears and then is gone. As if saying here I am come in. Great semi dry mouthfeel. Great everyday beer.

Bomber poured into Great Raft tulip.

A- A light golden straw color with a medium white head that dissipates about 90% then lingers for a little bit.

S- Grassy and earthy hop aroma. Very pleasant.

T- The malt comes through more on the palate than the nose and really balances out the bitterness to make this a really crushable yet boldly hopped kolsch that is perfect on a hot and humid Louisiana day.

M- Smooth and medium carbonation. Light body.

D- Yes... More please!
