Catahoula Common has a thick, off-white head, a clear, burnished-gold appearance, bubble streams, and some lacing left behind (see Anchor Steam Beer, for comparison). Aroma is of rich, spicy, grassy, grain, and the flavor is of sweet malt, a touch of fruit, and spicy & grassy hops. Mouthfeel is medium, and Gnarly Barley's Catahoula Common finishes crisp and refreshing (like Coors Banquet!).

Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of grain, grass and light malt. Taste follows the nose with grain and grass flavors initially. Can also taste some wet bread and light white pepper.

First had poured from 1/2 growler into (jelly jar) mug. This is not an innovative new lager style a la Jack's Abby, but Catahoula Common is a very solid lager, from a promising new Louisiana brewery.

I might have gotten a bad batch, but beer was very average. Had a distinct starsan taste. Edited review, initial was definitely from an infected beer.

Draft pour in a shaker pint glass.

A bit hazy, yellow orange in color, foamy white head. mild aroma, slightly sweet. Same with taste. Grainy malt, cracked corn, a bit of earthiness, some noble hops? Medium body and carbonation. Very easy to drink, and nice mild flavor. Great for a hot New Orleans day.
