Pours a hazed gold with 2÷ fingers of beige colored head. Great Lacing and Good Head Retention

S: Tons of Tropical Fruit, some wheat notes

T: Green Melon, Passion Fruit, hints of lime and a little strawberry up front. Grassy notes pick up as this warms, plus Green Melon and Cantaloupe and Strawberry. Finishes a little dry with grassyness and Green Melon

MF: Light/Medium Body with dialed back carbonation, nice balance

Pretty easy to drink, good flavor, on tap is better

Appearance: A quick burst of a bubble show builds two fingers of marshmallow foam over the hazy goldenstraw; good retention and a splattering of lace

Smell: Sweetened juicy fruit tones featuring mango, blueberry and pineapple; a bit of sugar cookie

Taste: Bright and juicy flavors forward, with blueberry pronounced and the mango/pineapple supporting; some sugar cookie and fresh squeezed orange juice, in the middle; limited bitterness and a very light finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Very enjoyable to drink but it does miss some depth of flavor, particularly in the finish

Thanks, NolaHopHead, for the opportunity

12 oz can, dated 12/24/20, into Crooked Stave Willie.

Juicy hazy blonde with a tall firm cap of 2 fingers. Leaves some webby lacing as it recedes.

Aroma of slight hop spoilage and some orange juice, slight cereal grain and baby food.

Flavor starts with citric acidity; brings some grapefruit and some mandarin oranges. A little bit of tangerine. Smarties candies. Hefty soupy malt base behind that. Some slight hop greenery but it's muted. There's a lot missing here.

Feel is creamy and smooth, best part of this beer, with a good bite to it. No alcohol in sight. Nice carbonation. Medium bodied.

Overall, I was expecting more from this beer due to all of the glowing reviews, but this one fell hilariously flat. Missing a good chunk of flavor from the middle. It's citric acidity, then malt-o-meal, then smarties. It's a good price on a 6 pack but I can't be bothered to go back for more. Don't hail this beer, it sucks. Just like its namesake. Probably hitting the drain soon.

This is the beer that started my love for beer a few years ago. I would have the occasional Stella or Blue Moon, but wasn't a huge fan of beer; since trying Jucifer I have developed an addiction. This is an easy drinking, beautifully hazy, NE-IPA that pours with a lacy silky head and has an amazing aroma of grapefruit and hops. The taste of this beer is second to none in my opinion in terms of IPA's, it is perfectly sweet with a very present but not overwhelming grapefruit flavor and a perfectly balanced hoppy bitterness. I could not recommend this beer enough and if a restaurant or bar has Jucifer on tap I always grab a pint. I thought it couldn't get any better until I noticed 12-packs of this htting the shelves in Whole Foods and Acquistapace's.

Really nice New England IPA that I enjoyed at a famous club in New Orleans, d.b.a., listening to Robin Rapuzzi’s band, waiting for Tuba Skinny to play. Beer almost as good as the band!

On-draught @ St. Lawrence, New Orleans.

Citrusy and balanced, though it does leave something to be desired in terms of hop pungency and depth of flavour.

This poured a hazy golden. Unripe mango, grapefruit peel, some tang. I hadn't heard of Gnarly Barley but this was a very pleasant surprise. Very similar character to the Parish beers I had.

Easy drinking soft and juicy NE IPA, with a nice sharp citrus peel bite to keep it moving.

Drank it from a can so I didn't really get much of a look at it. Didn't get a good nosefull of it either but the aroma I got was light and hoppy with good citrus notes and tropical hints. Flavor is nice and “Juicy” loads of citrus fruit: tangerines and grapefruit with light tropical hint to it. Light bodied with a pale crackery malt body that makes for an easy drinking, crushable beer. Faint hints of dank pine needles on the back-end that leaves fairly clean but faintly lingering bittersweet hoppy aftertaste. Medium/ light bodied with slightly above average carbonation

I'm trying this at Beer Fest on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a nice ring lace. The scent was tropical fruit. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit start and slightly dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a very good beer.

Opaque tan-orange with a thick, even white froth leaving droopy layers of lace.

Smell is like a minty Orange Julius and a hoppy Pils--juicy and spicy.

Taste has a sort of Saison phenol, but a spicy hop tang too, with bread, Smarties and toast via a medium, velvety body, finishing semi-dry.

Milky gold color. Very cloudy. Moderate head but it leaves ample blanketing lace.

Strong grapefruit nose.

Biting and harsh hop with the grapefruit zest overtones. The malt, while providing a richer than average base, barely appears tastewise. The carbonation is likewise high. Long aftertaste naturally. Overall, a bit of a hop bomb.

my first beer from these guys is a delicious east coast style hazy ipa, more balanced than almost all beers in this style i have had, and something quite special. huge thanks to my man in the bayou for hooking this up via beermail! it pours a hazy but not sediment laden pale thick straw color, and holds nearly an inch of bright white head. the carbonation is vibrant. aroma of citra and mosaic, or some similar combination, not unfamiliar at all to me, just insanely fresh and dry hoppy, low bitterness and just bursting with life. flavor of fresh hops, almost west hops, incredibly juicy with strong notes of canned pineapple, fresh mango, tangerine, lime, and even white grape, its a veritable fruit salad, but there is some appreciated bitterness that my nose couldnt pick up coming in late. has to be some wheat or oats or both in here, this has a rich starchy almost creamy texture to it, really nice for the hops, lets them carry a bit longer, and pushed forward by robust carbonation, just beautiful beer. none of the green beer immaturity so many of these have, and so far none of my have fallen of the hazy ipa cliff yet desipite being in the fridge a couple weeks now. this is better than almost the whole rest of the field in my experience in this style. awesome beer, stoked to have had a four pack of this shared with me! gnarly barley for the win!
