Just moved to Columbus and found high reviews for this store, so I decided to give it a look. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the brew he sells and was open to recommending different types of brew. There are a ton of singles if you want to build a four or six pack, and he does have a lot of high selling beer cold. You can also buy cases. Selection is very good for an all around craft beer drinker. Wish there were some more stouts/porters, but thats me being picky and only drinking dark brews. Prices are fair, especially for the 22 oz. bombers. I couldve walked out with $100 plus worth of beer easily, but Ill be back soon for more beer.
I absolutely love this store. It's only about two miles from my parent's house and I'd be in trouble if I still lived in Columbus. I stop by every time I visit, and have no idea what the December reviewer is complaining about. A great mix of local stuff, national crafts and a nice import section. Also a handful of quality ciders and some interesting glasses for sale dispersed throughout the store (they offered I could pick one for free last month after a purchase over $100). It's small but packed with beer on every wall plus a decent selection in the cooler. Most of the beer is sold as singles but they have a fair number in 4/6 packs too. Friendly owners and the best part is the hard to find beers are in plain view just behind the checkout counter, first come first served.
Went here while visiting a friend in Columbus and try to go back whenever I am in town. They always have a great selection that spans domestic and import and they have it stocked in a way that makes sense and is easy to peruse. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My first impression of the store was how clean and well laid out it was and how varied the selection is. Worth checking out.
I literally have no idea what Jasonpeckins32 is talking about. You will be very hard pressed to find a better place than this in Ohio. There are some very good bottle shops and beer places in Ohio. Crafted Drafts is easily one, if not the best. It has an atmosphere that when you visit, it is actually comfortable to spend time in. They are friendly and educated. Their selection is extensive, maybe the most extensive in Ohio. If you don't know what you are talking about with beer or if you are well educated about beer you will enjoy this place. The space is inviting and is great for events. they don't have stacks of cases everywhere or lotto tickets or old posters on the wall. You don't feel bad about bringing your kids or family in while you pick out a 6 pack.
A wall of beer that is 50 feet long of over 800 beers. Not a waste of time in my mind.
There is absolutely no grocery stores that has better sections than this. Unless you are looking for Bud or Coors. Maybe that is what is meant by the below criticism.
Small store with very minimal product for a craft beer store. They have 2 walls of beer. One of the walls is singles and the other wall is made of 6-packs. There are usually a few displays of seasonal beers in the center of the store, but there could be much more available.
After a few minutes in the small store, I noticed they only have one wall worth of beer variety, as they used the 2nd wall to display singles. If you've got a favorite brewery that currently has several beers available, this place is probably only carrying 1 or 2 of those beers.
The absolute worst use of space I have ever seen in a craft beer store. I don't know if these guys are going under or something, or maybe they have a hard time moving beer through the store, but their selection was smaller than most local grocery stores.
Wife and I were in Columbus for the day. Stopped by to see their selection based on some Pictures of new beers on Twitter. Great selection, well organized. Friendly service. Next time we are in Columbus, we will definitely stop again.
Not being from the Columbus area (I'm from a much smaller town in eastern KY), I was pretty impressed by the sheer selection of hard-to-find beer this place had to offer. It's not a large store, but it's well organized, clean, and quite modern - at least in comparison to any beer store I've been to back home. The girl working there was incredibly friendly and helpful. I mentioned to her that I wasn't from the area and she took the time to tell me about all the beers they carried from breweries local to Columbus. This is a store I wish I could frequent every week. I'll still try to make a trip up a few times a year, probably.
A staff that took the time to explain (in depth) many questions that I had about various beers and styles, aging and brewing. I believe it was the owner that I was talking to, but the other workers have been nothing but outstanding as well. This is an establishment that truly cares about distributing good beer to good people, and it's a goal they're willing to go above and beyond to meet! Though it's pretty far from my house, I will make the trip again and again to get that kind of service/selection at a fair price.
this place has an amazing selection of varied craft beers but nothing really rare or special at all which was very surprising. If you are just getting in to craft beer and you are looking for an astonishing variety this is the place. If you are looking for something that is a little more rare or hard to find I found this store completely devoid of that which was bizarre considering the selection.
Great atmosphere, great selection, great service. The store is very inviting and well organized, and the owner Mike and his staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices are a bit higher than other Columbus area stores. I found many of their bombers and 6 packs to be marked up anywhere from $.50 to a few dollars over normal retail; however, their 12oz singles were very reasonably priced.
This place has a great selection of bottled beers, meads, and ciders. Many of the beers he sells here you would have to go to two or three other 'good beer shops' to get. excellent place to stop if you are looking for something specific or hard to find.
Moved to the Columbus area in mid-2012 and up until this place opened we had to drive 20 minutes to get to a decent bottle shop. Now that this place is open, not only do we have a place nearby that is convenient, but I would rank this as the best bottle shop I've been to in Columbus.
They have a great selection of bottled beer, and a large percentage of it you have access to make your own 6-pack (or buy beer individually). They also have a great selection of bombers and other beers to buy individually, especially including lots of things unique to Ohio breweries that you can only get at this shop (at least in Columbus). Huge variety, including imports and beer from all over the country.
The owner has a great beer knowledge and is more than willing to chat about what is in stock, and he is really knowledgable about what is available.
Only complaint is that they don't have growler fills, but really since that isn't their thing it is a very, very minor complaint. If they had growler fills (or even more pint service across a bar) I might be persuaded to move in permanently.
I moved to Columbus about a year ago from Pittsburgh and have not had any good spots to go to in the Gahanna area until Crafted Drafts came around. This place is fantastic.
Great selection, reasonable prices, clean comfortable environment and a great staff. Mike the owner is fantastic. It's great becuase they are very active on social media posting new arrivals and limited releases on twitter and facebook. With them getting new and different beers in all the time posting the releases online is a great way to keep your customers updated. Great selection of seasonals. I think right now he has about 72 winter/Christmas beers in stock.
I don't have anything bad to say about this place. I am there a few times a week and have never walked away disappointed in selection or service.
The atmosphere was very warm-rich feeling. Very clen, new, well organized with room to walk around. There are a few beer geek posters and antique beer items decorating the walls. There is a cooler and a insta chiller.
The owner, Mike is one of the most knowledgeable I have ever seen in a retail setting. He was extremely helpful to all that walked in. Truly passionate about the beer and customer service. He knows the beers and food pairings.
The selection was missing the common grocery store beers. They did have just about everything else allowed by Ohio law. They may have the best selection in the city. The store is new and he is still developing his network with local micros, the selection will certainly grow. The prices were very reasonable. Most if not all of the selection is available in single bottles.
