I stopped by recently while in the Point. Was stopping at O’so & Central Waters afterwards, so need a bit of lunch.

This is a classic tavern. Long bar against the south wall must seat 20. They have a nice back bar, high tin ceilings, booths and tables. They also have a small patio out front and a larger one in the rear where they host live music.

We sat at the bar and enjoyed the service from our bartender. He was quick with drinks, answered our questions and then chatted about tennis/Wimbledon with Mrs. Rover so that was nice.

Beer section was solid and extremely well priced. Lots of WI crafts plus some of the larger regionals. Point, O’So, Central Waters, etc. A couple of sections were on Nitro. Nice range of styles.

The food was solid pub grub, no complaints at all. Get the onion rings!

Great stop in a really nice mid-sized town.

Stopped in here for beers with friends recently. Long galley style bar. Old school charm with the tin ceiling and all. Plenty of seats at the bar and table wise. Really dark.

Bottle and tap list were pretty solid. They had some very nice gems littered in with standard local fare. Oso BA night train was my first pick. Service was adequate for a busy Friday night. We got there too late to try the food but I've heard it's pretty good.

Overall a beer oasis in a place with not many craft centric options.

The best beer selcetion in Stevens Point, and probobly the coolest design in the town. Good deals during the week as well. However, the bartenders are beyond snobbish, to the point where you cannot even get them to speak of the weather or the Packers. Beer quality is hit or miss: I have had some delicious taps and equally as many flat kegs and skunked lines. Price is based off of the area, it's a good price for a beer bar, but really expensive for Stevens Point. If you need a reason to go, get there for $2.50 Central Waters and a Guus burger. That will never dissapoint.

The beer selection at this place is great. Four beers from Central Waters, some Bells Brews, Pilsner Uruell, Newcastle, Harp, Guinness, Palaner, Spaten, Woodchuck, pbr, some type of lienies, atleast 4 point porducts and any number of local brews from Pangea, O'so and anywhere else. Always bringing new beers on tap to keep the regulars happy. Service is great and the foor is bar food with some healthy alts. Resembles a turn of the century pub with pressed tin and vaulted ceilings. Gets busy on the weekends after 11. A social bar. Clean.

Guu's is what I would consider a staple among Stevens Point's pubs. It offers an array of beers on tap and from a bottle. I believe it has the best beer selection in town. The atmosphere has a Madison feel to it. The patrons consist of anyone from legal drinking age all the way up to retirees. The quality of the beer in my opinion is pretty good. I wish they would pull some more Midwestern US brewed beers in and do away with the imports but I suppose the imports have their place too. The service can be hit or miss. It usually depends on the crowd and the time of day or night. When the college-aged bartenders are working and its Friday or Saturday night you can count on waiting a bit for a beer. However, during the dinner and lunch hours the service is pretty consistent. They have a great perch fry on Fridays and the menu carries a pretty solid variety. They have vegetarian selections and salads to buffalo chicken, burgers and tuna steaks.

Guus is a mainstay on the "square" in Stevens Point. I spent a lot of time there when I was in school. The interior is full of old pictures and old school beer advertising. This bar has some real good food at very reasonable prices. I recommend the Guu burger! The selection here is great with at least 23 different beers on tap, you can check the chalk board above the bar for what they have. The space gets tight with tables along the left wall and only about 4 feet of walking space from the bar. The back half of the bar has a few booths, but with some games back there it doesn't lend itself to larger groups (especially on the weekends). Nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary to draw people in, but it is a very good bar in a city where people love to drink beer!

pretty small. college aged crowd, busy as hell (i was in there a saturday night). had 23 taps, but that is pretty misleading, because most of the stuff is not worth drinking. there were maybe 2 or 3 beers that i was excited about, 5 more i would settle with, and the rest mediocre. granted this place probably has the best selection in SP (i don't know, i didn't go anywhere else), but that is saying relatively little. all in all, stay away, if you can make it to madison that would be ideal. oh yeah, it was too fucking loud, and the dartboard was kind of screwed up.

The best thing about Guu's is the 23 beers on tap...only 2 of those are macro-swilling-beer so you can go right down the line and indulge your beer senses in all types of quality libation. The bar itself is a little small, kinda rectangular and long so there isn't alot of room to walk when it's busy but the crowd is almost always a female majority...a big plus in my book. This seems to be the best bar to hang on those nights when not a lot of people are out and on the busy nights it's the busiest early in the night until about midnight, when everyone moves along to the dance spots. One of my favorite bars in Point!
