Notes:
Tropical IPA brewed using hops from the US, UK, Germany, Slovenia, and New Zealand. The result is a much more balanced, less bitter but more flavorful Dank-style IPA with hints of Mandarin Orange, Pineapple, Grapefruit, and Elderflower.

I am continuing New G7, I mean, D9, New Beer Summit, I mean, Sunday (Weak, I mean, Week 694) with this beer. It's going to be yuge!
From the bottle: "Brewed with elderflowers and 8 different hops from around the world. The result is a balanced dank-style IPA with pineapple, citrus and peach hop flavors."
I am rather anxious to get this one in. I now have a job assignment for tomorrow + I am just getting tired after today's marathon. Upon Pop!ping the cap, I got some light foaming coming up through the neck of the bottle. I decided to head this off at the pass & begin my slow, gentle pour sooner, rather than later. Once I got the pour started, it seemed to calm down, at least in that it was not foaming or going crazy. Color was a solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. An in-glass swirl raised two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, tawny head with great retention, leaving decent lacing in its wake. Nose smelled like tropical fruit salad & while that might be nice on deployment for a WestPac, it was not optimal for the style. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste was very much of the usual tropical fruit suspects - mango, guava, papaya, even pineapple, but where was the bitterness?!? If I am to rate to style then what was I left with? Finish was semi-dry, but I was unfulfilled. YMMV.

Thought the beer was actually pretty good.
It pours a orange amber color. Smells of citrus and multiple kinds of hops, almost floral. A nice smell. It leaves some lacing on the glass as it is drank. Taste of a good solid bitterness backed by a strong malt backbone almost making it a session IPA. Very drinkable. Picked up a 6'er at a local convenience store and was surprised it was this good. Mouthfeel was average and overall a pretty good beer. I was happy with it and would buy it again.

Pretty good IPA. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass. Bright hazy, dark gold color with a foamy, bubbly white head and foamy bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma is a bit earthy with subdued citrus and tropical fruit smells. Flavor features some caramel and bready malt along with the earthiness and citrus. Good flavor and bitterness but the malt presence is strong enough to balance the beer away from being a hop bomb. Mouthfeel shows a nice level of carbonation, little alcohol presence and a good balance between malt and hops. I enjoyed this beer.

Enjoyed on tap
Color golden amber with light haze
Smell has a tropical fruit aroma like papaya
The feel and taste are both very good with mild bitterness and dry body with slight melon flavor and mild citrus with light alcohol
Overall a good IPa not as sweet as a NE IPa but lacks bitterness of a west coast style

A: Pours a lightly hazy golden honey orange in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and slightly greater than moderate orange + golden yellow + copper highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a large patch of mottled thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderatre aromas of caramel + bready malts with moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, tropical/mango, and herbal hops.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of caramel + bready malts with just a light amount of sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, tropical/mango, and herbal hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which fades away pretty slowly.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. An average IPA that is not quite as tropical as I was expecting considering the name and description on the bottle, still enjoyable but more malty/balanced than I was expecting.

Bottle into a pint appears hazy dark copper with white cap.
Smells of caramel malt, almost akin to homebrew with dried malt extract and slight floral touch.
Taste is sweet and malty with a fruity alcohol aspect and floral aftertaste. Minimal hop bitterness is herbal.
Medium in body with modest carbonation. This must be a dated bottle because its not the "tropical ipa" as advertised but maybe the elderflower addition is what made it tropical? I donno but its not good.

Poured into a Double Barley can-shaped glass. No freshness date.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a full inch off off-white head that retains very well before slowly shrinking to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of bumpy surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.
S- Sweet aroma of malt and some citrusy hops.
T- All hop and malt flavor with very little bitterness. The taste that is there is balanced but not incredibly impressive. Just some typical malt sweetness and nondescript citrusy hop character. Very easy to drink for the ABV though.
M- Somewhat tangy with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.
O- Pretty good but I'm glad I only got a single since I was certainly expecting more from a "Tropical" IPA and I would've probably grown tired of it had I bought six of them.
