Oct. 2011: 500 ml swingtop bottle, bought in Spain. ABV is 5.0%. Very pale yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of "dusty" malts and grassy and slightly herbal hops. Light bodied and refreshing, soft mouthfeel. The flavour has a subtle presence of pilsener malts and German noble hops - nothing spectacular, but nice enough to drink. No offensive off-flavours.

Deja una espuma blanquecina que se va a los pocos segundos. Es una cerveza con cuerpo ligero y una carbonatación media. La malta es lo mas destacable, tanto en aroma como en sabor. Al tomarla es una cerveza acuosa, suave.

Generic and average beer. Roast malts and bready notes are present with a touch of honey and citrus fruits. Too much bitterness in the finish for my taste.
Hints of straw all over. It wasn't easy for me to drink this one.

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a bright white head two fingers thick.

Aroma: A little bit of grapefruit in the front. Buttery, light malts, faint apple and cinnamon.

Taste: Buttery, slight stickiness, malty, crisp mouthfeel. Spice, apple round it out.

Notes: This one is certainly not too bad and it's drinkable. Cheers.

Special at Aldi and as cheap as chips. Refreshing lager. Quite a lot of carbonation. Pretty bog standard to be honest. Similar to mass produced lagers in composition.

500ml bottle. Lager glass. Golden color, crystal clear appearance. White froth, close but poor crown. Yeasty, slight acidic –banana peel- aromas, herbs & honey on the backside. Malty, grainy flavors & honey hues at first sip. Light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Dense palate & spicy touch. Low bitter, earthy & citric astringent notes as well as herbal hints linger into a sweet/light bitter finish. Herbal infusion memories on the aftertaste.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of July 2014. Purchased a little while back from Aldi as part of their Oktoberfest selection. The chap on the label looks like the guy from the Dos Equis ads - stay thirsty my friends!

Poured into a tankard. A clear golden-amber colour with good carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before dissipating. Aroma of grainy malt, subtle caramel, yeast esters and mild stewed hops. Balanced but insipid.

Tastes of light, malty caramel with a dry finish. Notes of grain, mild caramel, yeast esters and stewed hops. There is a subtle bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body for the style. Aftertaste of light malt, stewed leaves and a hint of cardboard.

A fairly average brew, though better than most industrial lagers. Looks nice, but the aroma and flavour are rather bland. Decent body. Drinkable enough, and would accompany some bratwurst and sauerkraut nicely, however there's no need to hunt it down.

Bottled with swinging lid top and part of the Aldi Seasonal special range for October that thankfully makes frequent returns as these are a nice range of German biers and this is a nice looking golden lager with good white head and some continental hop refreshment
