Murky brown pour, and a thin white head. Aroma of banana, yeast, and a bit of spice, but nothing particularly strong. Pleasant sweetness is not dominated by the very mild malt. A bigger body and stronger flavor with a heavier chocolate malt finish could make this a good one.

Bottle BB 3/2019:
Pours a muddy, dirty light brown, but with a nice light beige head that took up a third of the glass with a heavy pour. Lacing started nicely, but came in more fits and starts further down the glass.

The nose is a little more earthen, with some earthy spices included - clove and maybe nutmeg - than it is banana esters, though the latter gains in strength as the beer warms.

Taste follows, with a little too earthy opening that thankfully passes quickly - it almost has a light spent coffee grounds aspect to it. The clove adds a little bite as the general spice notes wash away the near dirty opening note. A bit of wheat malt comes out next as the beer sweetens slightly and there's a hint of the banana from the nose. The feel is a bit thin with a tickling carbonation that isn't as smooth/creamy/palatable as I was hoping from a wheat-based beer.

A little more earthen than I'd like - in lieu of a little more malty sweetness. The feel and look are the more disappointing aspects, with the rest of the beer not covering for them.
