Not a large store, but the beer selection is insane, and now there's 40 taps and they do crowlers. As a resident of Central Kentucky, it's worth driving another 25-30 minutes whenever I'm in the NKY/Cincy area to see what they've got.

Service is unlike any store I have ever been into. Ben has never met a stranger and may not know the most about beer but will never claim to. He, as we all are, is constantly learning more and more every day and strives to carry the best selection of both shelf stuff and limited release stuff. If you spend 5 minutes in his store do not be surprised if 5 people come in who he knows by name. The service, selection and his top notch growler station is what keeps me coming back week after week when there are other shops much closer.

This is a great bottle shop! Both the selection and service are exceptional. This is truly a place for lovers of craft beer. The employees like to talk about beer as much as I do. They have an impressive tap list and the most modern growler station I've ever seen. Absolutely the best beer store in the area! They will soon be selling pints of beer so that you can shop and drink at the same time.

The best overall selection in the area. Big tap list that rotates often. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and laid back. A food truck was on-site when I visited last. Good selection of bombers and singles. A must visit for craft beer geeks.

It took all of one visit to convince me that this is the single best place on the Ohio side of the Greater Cincinnati Area to purchase beer, period.

While fairly small, this store has a staggering amount of good beers, including beers I was told never made it to Ohio by other shops in the area (Boulevard BBQ, ahem). Their selection of amazing, more-rare-than-common beers from US brewers is outstanding, and their import section, while small, is well-curated. Slap on the sizeable PEGAS growler station (from which they will serve you pints while you shop, if you are so inclined), and what else might one look for?

Oh, right, service. Well, I was greeted warmly as I came in the door, given a mini-tour of the place, and had at last two other employees (including the owner) come up to me as I was browsing to make sure I was finding everything all right, and to just shoot the breeze for a second.

All in all, I was quite impressed, and this place has a significant portion of my business for as long as I remain in the Cincy area, and on any trips back to visit family once I'm gone!

Awesome craft beer spot. Excellent growler selection and co2 system that you don't find just anywhere. Large selection of sours and stouts. Found KBS also. Very helpful staff. Must stop if passing through area.

Consummate bottle shop with everything you could ask for. Knowledgable staff, great service, amazing selection, constant events and other exciting things going on. Just the best place in Cincy.

Fantastic selection and the staff is just awesome as they truly cater to the customer. Don't forget to bring your growler as the tap selection is stellar. If you are on the eastside of Cincinnati make sure you stop in and pick up some of the freshest beer around.

Cappy's review in Beer Advocate.

Hands-down, without a doubt, the best bottleshop in the greater Cincinnati area. As a matter of fact, it could be argued that Ben at Cappy's has crafted the best shop in the state of Ohio as well. I have traveled this great country from Maine to Florida to Michigan to Texas to California bouncing in and out of bottleshop after bottleshop, and personally have yet to find one that exceeds the merits of Cappy's. Here it is spelled out:
5) Ben has built Cappy's from ground up completely focused on the customer and their ever-changing needs. For six years they have been accommodating my relentless crazy requests with a 100% track record.
4) Cappy's has a 16 tap PEGAS growler fill station stocked with some of the rarest, premium, sought-after craft beers from around the Midwest and the country. PEGAS means you can fly home out-of-state with a growler now -- 30 days of freshness from fill if kept sealed. Pi-yahhh!
3) You will find no pretentious hipsters on a power trip hugging whales behind the counter at Cappy's. The staff is knowledgeable, humble, & completely devoted to the needs of the customer. Ben and mgr Sam run a tight ship.
2) Their selection of fine American craft, Belgians & European beers is impeccable. The stock selection is well-thought out and logically displayed.
1) No dusty bottles here. What I appreciate most of all about Cappy's is their continuous, laser-focused attention to the quality and freshness of the beer they sell. It is doubtful that you'll ever find an out-of-date IPA here...even if it isn't stamped on the bottle. Nothing chaps my a** more, than coming home after beer shopping out-of-state at BA highly rated bottleshops, only to find that all my non-date stamped IPA's and DIPA's have already aged and morphed into a sugary, butter-toffee malt bomb devoid of any remaining hop profile. Cappy's also moves a lot of beer, so their stock is continuously rotating...even the obscure selections as well.

I've been going to Cappy's for a couple years now. They have great customer service. Their staff takes time to get to know you and your tastes. They might not have the largest selection for growler fills, but it's guaranteed there will be a few things on tap you can't find anywhere else. They stock an enormous selection, I'll go out on a limb and say it rivals Jungle Jims, even if they don't carry the inventory.

Neighborhood gem. Amazing amount of beer in a small space. Selection is way above average. Staff is helpful. 10-12 beers on tap so bring your growler. Tastings on a regular basis. They are having one tonight and bringing in a food truck. It is definitely worth a trip.
2/16- new taps added. I think they have 25+ beers on tap now.

Ben (owner) and staff are extremely helpful, they will go out of their way to make sure you leave the story happy, he even offered to personally deliver a growler of beer to a customer who came for some Waka Waka, but they were having problems with the keg at the time (new growler system, they're going through some growing pains ATM, as the draft system is new to them). I also must add they have one of those growler systems that purges the bottle with CO2 before filling!

Also, the staff regularly checks beers to make sure they aren't out of date, if they are they're taken care of. Ask for something and they will bend over backwards to help you or find an alternative. Genuinely feel like they are trying to recommend beer you might like based on what you tell them, not just trying to sell you something and get you out the door. And no, I do not work there, this place is just that awesome!

This is one of the best craft stores in SW Ohio. It's not much to look at on the outside. Don't be deceived! It's also set back from the road a little and you could overlook it, like I used to. Don't! The owner is one of the few store owners around here who bother to get to know his clientele. He really tries to take care of them. He pretty aggressively goes after cool beers, and does not disappoint on bottle stock or what's on tap. He's got a great filling system that keeps growlers fresh for weeks. I've pushed the envelope and I have personally had some fills go six weeks plus and they are like the day they were filled. Other staff in the store know and like beer and can help get you headed in the right direction. This is a growing store that is already giving the big boys a run for their money. If you go in here you can not only consistently find great beer, but you can actually get some decent advice on what to select. Anyone would feel comfortable here. No snobbery, just great beer and service to go with it.

Great selection and knowledgeable staff that are very friendly and eager to help. Only knock is the stupid expensive prices of their growlers.
