Our traditional light bodied Kolsch, cold steeped with caramel and hazelnut freshly roasted coffee beans. An amazingly unique brew that drinks as light as any lager but packs a delicious coffee punch!!

The appearance is golden and clear.
The smell really stands out as heavy coffee flavor. It smells exactly like roasted coffee beans with a hint of crisp, lager smell behind it. Koffee Kolsch seems very fitting for the smell.
The flavor tastes has hints of vanilla, with a bold coffee-like flavor. The flavor is wow! There is no bitterness at all, but instead a crisp, coffee flavor, with a tart vanilla follow-up. The flavor really surprised me a lot, and it really works well.
The mouthfeel is crisp and light on the mouth, with a very slight creaminess.
Really cool beer with lots of unique flavor, very surprising.

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a one finger head; good retention and squiggles of lacing
Smell: Hazelnut, graham cracker and coffee, with vanilla and toffee tones supporting
Taste: Hazelnut, toffee and graham cracker forward with the coffee and vanilla flavors emerging; the Kolsch aspect develops in the middle, but is very subtle as the adjuncts dominate from start to finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: In many respects, this tastes more like a Blonde Coffee Stout than a Blonde Kolsch, but that quibble aside, it is a unique and enjoyable libation
Thanks, kevindp9, for the opportunity

Type: 12-oz. can
Reviewed as: Kölsch
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $9.99 for a 6-pack (w/ Ralph’s card)
From: Fry’s Food Store in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Purchased: May 30, 2021
Consumed: May 31, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 21, 2021
Grabbed a 6-pack of this along with a 12-pack of SanTan MoonJuice. Had this twice before, first on May 13, 2021 in a bottleshare, where I gave it a 4.25. Then had it on my trip out to Arizona when I bought a mixed 6-pack. Gave it a 4.50 on May 29, 2021 and wrote “Holy shit this is great when drinking it sober.” Damn. So I later picked up a 6-pack to take home. Their website called it “Our traditional light bodied Kolsch, cold steeped with caramel and hazelnut freshly roasted coffee beans. An amazingly unique brew that drinks as light as any lager but packs a delicious coffee punch!”
Poured a medium gold-to-light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass (faster) and the sides (slower). Decent watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled coffee, caramel, toffee, hazelnut, vanilla, honey graham cracker, cocoa, white chocolate and buttered white toast. Not quite as good on the nose from the can. (Smell - 4.50)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. Got hazelnut, caramel, toffee, coffee, vanilla, honey graham cracker, white chocolate, cocoa, buttered white toast, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, black pepper and hints of apple and pear. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, creamy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an incredible beer. So much flavor for 4.7 pct. ABV. (Overall - 4.50)

Poured into a standard pint glass: color is nearly clear straw, really messes with your perception of the flavors and aroma but an exceptionally clear beer for the substyle, limited head that dissipates quickly, very slight haze, no head lacing.
Smell is big hazelnut coffee, slight caramel sweetness, really limited kolsch qualities but the coffee is pretty intense.
Taste is similar - big hazelnut coffee, caramel, maybe some bread/biscuit like qualities, maybe some vanilla and cocoa like notes. Very unique for the substyle and a really intense coffee note.
Mouthfeel is fairly crisp, not really sweet but the caramel is notably lingering, bitterness is more from the coffee acidity and the drying feel.
Overall a very thought provoking brew as the look is not in line with perception of the the flavors but it delivers on the style variation with intensity.

Super pale, no head.
Smell is insane! Like crème brûlée. Tons of **coffee**, vanilla.
Tastes basically like corn water infused with coffee and spice. Like Bailey's.
This is nuts. More like a Toberlone than anything else. Hazelnut?

***The reviews here and personal tasting make me think this was an old can, as I'm not a Kolsch drinker...updated review to come someday.***
12 oz can part of a gift pack, tried out of curiosity. Poured into an English pint glass.
L - Poured a cloudy yellow/amber color with zero head and no lacing.
S - Very strong vanilla, toffee, and hazelnut notes up front, then coffee, coconut, and roasted cocoa. Not much in the fruit or hops department. Unique, rich, and sweet.
T - Followed the nose with vanilla, toffee, and hazelnut, almost like I was drinking a carbonated macchiato. Overwhelmingly sweet with little bitterness from hops or coffee bean prescence.
F - Light-bodied, little carbonation, very thin and watery. Finishes fairly smooth and creamy, though.
O - I was not feeling the coffee + beer combination. Then again, I believe this can was past the freshness date (not listed). I wanted to like it due to its unique characteristics, but for now I prefer to keep coffee and beer separate, both for effect and taste.

Got in a trade with AZBeerDude72. 12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 7/1/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big hazelnut coffee, honey, caramel, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, peach, pear, red apple, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of hazelnut/caramel coffee, pale malts, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of big hazelnut coffee, honey, caramel, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, peach, pear, red apple, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, spicy, roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of hazelnut coffee, honey, caramel, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, fruit, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of hazelnut/caramel coffee, pale malts, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is an awesome coffee flavored Kolsch style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of hazelnut/caramel coffee, pale malts, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balance of fruity/nutty caramel/hazelnut coffee beans and clean pils malts; with solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressively spot on bast style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

I wont parrot what others have so eloquently stated. All I will do is attest this is a phenomenal beer that will fool you with its looks when poured, whiffed n tasted. Its a undercover sleeper that needs to be demo'd, can wait to try it on draft...
