I'm hanging tight with Arrowhead - my first encounter was "off", but most of their offerings are pretty impressive. This is definitely dark and dank - heavy on the malt, it also errs on the side of spice. The hops are not overbearing, but they definitely lend an edgy fruitiness. I would love to try this fresh from the source on my next pass through Invermere.

Bottle foamed up, sour twang, definitely infected.
Surprisingly not very hoppy at all.

Drinkable but its missing the hops for me. I feel the malts are there and overpower.
Good try but needs work.
Tried another 650ml bottle, way over carbonated it grew a 4 inch thick head over time and i poured it slow into my IPA glass. Maybe bottled to early?

Enjoyed a pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary, another "west coast" IPA from a BC craft brewery ... We live in a (wonderful) era where small places like Invermere can serve as a launching pad for some pretty tasty brews. Arrowhead's IPA is an orange-yellow amber color with some off-white head at the typical Beer Revolution modest level of intensity. Aroma is a subdued blend of mixed citrus rind, green leaf, resinous spice, and caramel. The taste is more bold and assertive, hitting the drinker with some orange and grapefruit pulp and pith, vegetal green flavors like fresh grass or perhaps parsley, smoky hash pipe resin, and light menthol, perhaps a whiff of lemon-lime, with the malts buried in there somewhere, winking through with some toast and toffee notes. Moderate in both body and carbonation, albeit with the fresh hop fireworks contributing to a fairly peppery, nigh-prickly mouthfeel. This is a dank and spicy west coaster all right, with the experience perhaps being enhanced (or degraded if the green notes are too much for some) by a pretty fresh keg.
