Arrives a cloudy, dark grapefruit color. The white head has good retention and good lacing.
Smell is definitely the weak spot here. Some notes of bread dough and crackers. Nothing else to be found here despite repeated searches.
Taste is an improvement with notes of hops, crackers, malt and some light orange presence. Balance is good.
Medium bodied, medium effervescence. Drying with a relatively clean finish.
Admittedly, this is a style I drink rarely but, as it is a new and very local brewery, I felt it important to try all the offerings they have currently. A decent wit in my estimation but no standout. Needs nose.

12 oz can..2-23-17 says the sticker on the six pack holder

Pours hazes typical wit looking lighter and yellowy... minor off white film and just a glimpse of lacing

Light coriander sniff

More coriander on the palate with some light lemon and wheaty malts...

Nothing amazing going on here..but this is an easy drinking and enjoyable enough wit

12 oz can poured into a pilsner glass. Poured fairly aggressively and there was zero head. Literally nothing. Mouth feel was as expected, unfortunately. Appearance was light gold and pretty transparent. Smells of bread, citrus, and faintly of spices. The spice is more noticeable on the tongue. Taste....well balanced and dryer than I would expect with the wheat and citrus notes at the forefront. Very refreshing and goes down easy.
Overall I think I just got a bad batch that lost the majority of its carbonation somehow. Big top is a great local brewery and I've enjoyed all that I've tried from them so I'd try Trapeze monk again in hopes it'd be better at the pub.

Looks only marginally better than it smells, mostly banana on the nose, flat, under-carbonated.

This beer confounded me. The first few sips, when it was ice cold, were outstanding. Great traditional wit flavors with the orange really jumping out. I was thinking this was going to be a summer go-to. But as it warmed the flavors all became muted and somewhat stale. It was very odd, as usually flavors open up more as the beer warms. Will probably try again to see if those great initial flavors carry through to the end.

Had this poured into a pilsner glass. Appearance is probably the highlight of this one, translucent, almost opaque golden yellow, a bit darker than most wits. Flavor and aroma were tart...like a lemon sour dough...not a fan. Mouthfeel was a bit harsh as well for a wit. Not my favorite
