Arrives a clear, amber color with orange running throughout. Great retention of, and great lacing from, the off-white head.
Smell is sweet, malty, with citrus and honey notes and a light hop presence. Great balance.
Taste is very close to the smell with notes of malt, sweetness, hops, citrus and honey. The balance is great here as well.
The body is medium plus, with a middle of the road effervescence. Fairly smooth start becoming drying in the middle through the finish. A little surprising, there is a warming aspect to it. Not strong but very nice.
This is my new favorite pale ale. I really like the sweetness and flavor that the honey and citrus bring to the party. This is what a pale ale should be like, not an IPA-like hop heavy brew.
I had this on the first day of release (Black Friday) at a craft beer bar just a few miles from the brewery. Fresh and super delicious. The best of the three offerings on-tap. Looking forward to more (and the tasting room opening).
