Black pour with lite tan head; decent lacing. Sweet roasted malt nose. Sweet roasted malt start; sweet cornbread finish. Lite mouthfeel and sweet cornmeal tongue coating. Too much sweet cereal...

On tap at the brewery.
Black and opaque with a decent head.
Excellent aroma with good balance and enticing sweet notes but the flavor doesn't keep up.
Some char and smoke with the dark roasted grained. Medium body and medium-light carbonation.

3 Daughters "Summer Storm"
on tap @ The Hurricane, St. Pete's Beach, FL
Notes: I can't discern clarity or head retention given that I'm drinking this beer from a cloudy plastic cup so I'll have to go with a score of 4. Aroma: chocolatey, mildly roasty. Perhaps a bit caramelish. Flavor: Similar. Malty, seemingly wheaty. Chocolatey. Very soft roast. Minimal underlying hops. Mouthfeel: Gently bristling, median carbonation. Overall: Flavorful. Drinkable. Straightforward, as the style dictates.

This new brewery hits it out of the park with this oatmeal stout. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side but not too sweet, and that roasted coffee and oatmeal aroma are lovely. The head was light brown and a little short, but that fabulous after taste is beautiful and lingering. I had to take home a 32oz growler because it was that good. Stop by and try it for yourself. Very nice!
