12 oz can into a pilsner glass. Dec. 2014 canning date.

Excellent looking with a large, creamy, bone-colored head that has superb retention and leaves creamy lacing on the glass. The body is clear, dark amber.

Earthy and herbal hop aroma carries over to the flavor where a hint of citrus joins in. Moderate bitterness.

Feel: medium-full and relatively smooth body. Good medium carbonation

Simply not good. Murky golden brown with little head or lacing. Smell is muted, a bit pine sol. No brightness or freshness. Flavor is also pine sol, alcohol and some orange. Flabby finish with a sort of medium slick feel. No bueno.

Look: Darker than expected, a rich amber color. Decent off white head, but the lacing was only decent and it faded quickly. Smell: Smelled slightly sweet but with a strong piney hop aroma. Not as much citrus as advertised. Taste: Malt forward, pine hops that I was getting on the nose come through here but they simply don't mesh well with the sweet, bready malt. This beer is trying to be citrusy, malty and piney all at one time but it falls short of being complex and ends up rather confusing. Feel: This aspect I liked, very nice medium carbonation, smooth and full bodied. The heaviness of the malts in this beer I think helps this. Overall: Not a great beer. Tries to do too much. Reminds me of 16 Mile Inlet IPA. Not great. I prefer these "East Coast IPA's" when they are more balanced than this.

3 Daughters Brewing "Bimini Twist IPA"
12 oz. can, dated 11/13/14 0137
$1.84 @ Trader Joe's #766, Tampa,FL

Appearance: Moderately hazy deep amber with golden highlights. Full head of creamy off-white foam. Excellent retention and very good lacing.

Aroma: Sweetish caramel-drizzled malt blended with delicately resinous, brightly citrusy, and slightly piney hops.

Flavor: Medium, golden, and slightly darker caramelish malt notes combine perfectly with floral, citrusy, softly resinous, and gently spruce-like hops. Apple-like yeasty flavors. A solid bitterness anchors it, and the sweetish malt wants to break its tether but cannot. It's remarkably well threaded through with hops within malt, and it's superbly balanced and polished. It finishes dry but with some residual sweet malt fading as the bitterness and hop flavors rise. Piney, earthy, resinous, gently minty, and floral.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and gently crisp.

Overall: An impressively balanced and polished IPA that's accessible but still has enough "UUMPH!" for even the most die-hard hop head.

Enjoying wrestlemania with some good beer.Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a beige/orange color with a 1 inch head and lots of lacing. Smell is of piney hops. Taste is hoppy, bitter, some pine, a bit unbalanced for my liking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Poured from a 12 oz can (01/18/17) ,into a Cigar City spiegelau IPA glass.

Thick creamy white colored head that stands 2 fingers tall with heavy lacing ,and patching.Deep hazy copper colored body, with medium clarity and medium carbonation.

On the nose I get pine, citrus, and sweet bread malt notes after the pour.Once the pour dies down it takes on much more of a malty scent, almost to the point that it smells like malt liquor. After about 5-10 minutes of drinking it takes on more of a dank aroma, and not in a good way.It almost starts to smell like rotten cheese,or smelly feet.

On the palate I get heavy malt up front, with a strong dose of bitter hoppy pine on the back end.The hops are pretty intense, but they almost taste generic,or manufactured,if that makes any sense. And again the taste starts to take a dank form a couple minutes into the beer, almost like rotten cheese. Also getting some apple flavors, but they are a little off putting.Lots of hoppy floral notes, but not enough to save it.

The mouth feel is medium heavy, with a sticky texture.Good amount of carbonation on the tongue, and a dry finish.

I'm usually pretty generous with my ratings, and even an overall 3 may be a little too generous.I really can't recommend this beer, and definitely will not buy it again.I really wish I didn't buy a 6 pack before trying 1 first.
