I tried this at Craft Burgers and Beer in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It poured an opaque dark with ercu head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of roast and chocolate. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with milk chocolate base and roast decor. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Took a growler home.

Looks your typical dark brown color. Has a minimal khaki head with very little lacing.

Smells like lactose and brown sugar, with hints of sweet chocolate.

Taste follows the nose, with the sweet lactose coming through very strong. Some baker's chocolate and toasted grains follow. A little too sweet.

The feel is very light and a bit watery. Has medium carbonation. Flavors are gone as soon as they hit the tongue.

Overall, a pretty disappointing beer. The flavors and aromas are decent enough but the feel lacks the creaminess and smoothness I look for in a stout.

Look: Opaque black. A medium mocha head. Pours fluid. No activity observed.

Smell: Rich roasted malt, roasted coffee beans, dark malt, light toffee, hints of vanilla, bitter dark chocolate, and a roasty finish.

Taste: Lightly sweet lactose, rich roasted malt, espresso beans, hints of vanilla and dark chocolate. The finish is lightly fruity with more rich espresso.

Feel: Smooth and quenching. Medium bodied. As the body builds a toasty bitter builds to a pleasant dry finish. No alcohol detected.

Overall: A great oatmeal stout. It is rich with flavor while remaining light and quenching. Don't skip over this in pursuit of their hoppy stuff!

Not much going on here, I'm afraid. Feels very flat (taste and carbonation) which may be by design. The flavor feels rather bland with no discernible notes to my rookie palate. Absolutely love the can design and feel they deserve a 5 on that. Refined. Sophisticated. Clear. And not some monstrosity on the label (literally and figuratively). Only wish the beer would have impressed me as much.

Bottom line: Would drink it if free (it was) but not buy any.

Poured 10/28/15 from a 32oz growler that was filled at the brewery on 10/23/2015, into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, lactose, oats and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of milk chocolate and coffee along with some lactose creaminess. Then a hearty roasted oat malt character comes in. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly creamy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a good stout to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.

A: pours a milky faintly brown head with rocky bubbles. The beer itself is a deep black.
S: vanilla, chocolate, cream
T: very sweet. Vanilla and chocolate, with noticeable lactose. peppery, herbal hop finish
M: creamy, with medium carbonation
O: nice creamy milk stout. This is my preferred dark offering from proclamation

Good steaks from a modest bar pour head. The liquid is dark brown where the faintest of light passes through the extreme edge of the glass.

Chalky chocolate with a touch of mocha to the nose.

The flavor is quite dry, especially for a "milk" stout. Good body which may be where the "oatmeal" comes in. Decent effervescence for the style. The finish is like a dark chocolate candy bar.

Poured from a 32oz growler filled (on nitro) at the brewery

Appearance: a lovely, dark brown body, with a thick, beige head. Solid retention here.

Aroma: lots of milk chocolate and sweetness, with a little bit of roastiness. The lactose is definitely present too....smells like hot chocolate somewhat.

Taste: Following the smell, starts with sweetness and soft, chocolatey flavors from the lactose, and finishes with some roastiness. The oatmeal also comes through, with some soft, creamy spice as well.

Feel: the only area I thought was lacking, the body was slightly thin for my tastes. I feel as if the body was just a bit more viscous, the flavors would be more decadent and present.

Overall: a milk stout I'd be happy to drink any time. Flavorful and smooth, and it won't get you wasted if you drink three or four of them.

In my opinion the best beer while I had there, so took a growler home.

Appearance is jet black with lofty dark mocha brown head.

Soft aromas of brown sugar with a solid impression of milky, sugary sweetness. Oats and roasted chocolate.

Smooth and gentle creaminess. Lush, not decadent feel. Helped by some mild carbonation.

Predominantly lactose sweetness here with hints of dark fruit, light oat nuttiness. Mild chocolate and coffee. Roasted grains at a minimum. Good, biting hop bitterness mid palate.
