Canned 06/16. Hazy gold beer that leaves a white head and a few ribbons of lacing. The smell is lightly sweet with yeast, bananas, cloves and some floral components. The taste is peppery with banana and clove followed by a sweetness that melds into a slight bitterness. Really creamy mouthfeel. Quite a tasty hef.

This home-state Hefeweizen pours to a brief-lived medium pebbly white head on a slightly hazy, very effervescent golden body; lacing is scant, consisting of a bit of spatter and some thin lines. The aroma is medium in intensity and is quite nice: leading apple/banana/clove esters are backed by hints of caramel and yeast; a fairly crisp wheat character forms a backdrop and modest alcohol overtones ride atop it all. The palate is dominated by an assertive bitterish citrus flavor that overshadows a more subtle yeast character and hints of caramel and spicy esters; all are backed by a modest yet unexpected spicy hop bitterness. The wheat foundation is largely obscured by the citrus and hop bitterness and the flavor lacks that modest malt sweetness that rounds out a really good Hefeweizen. The finish is fairly clean, showing just a bit of bitter citrus rind, followed by the onset of a modest citrusy, earthy bitterness that quite outstays its welcome. Mouthfeel is on par with the light-medium body, and is slightly astringent; the texture is medium-creamy, slightly slick and quite prickly from the assertive carbonation.
