New Holland Ichabod Ale | New Holland Brewing Company. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, the head on this beer is three fingers thick and off-white, with solid lacing, and a clear deep mahogany brownish amber body.

I smell milder pumpkin/ginger spice with caramelized malts.

Tastes like the caramelized malts mixed with gingerbread making this a damn tasty brew, let alone the lighter pumpkin hints.

Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

Overall, I'll rate New Holland Ichabod Ale | New Holland Brewing Company with a 4.5

New Holland Ichabod Ale brewed by New Holland Brewing Company. This pumpkin ale pours out a deep golden amber color with a nice off white head. Now Ichabod Ale , has an ABV of 4.50% There is a decent amount of lacing to this pumpkin ale, it sticks nice to the glass. Ichabod Ale smell is rich with spices and pumpkin. The smell puts you in the mind set of pumpkin pie, not saying that is a thing. Between the color and smell this brew is really inviting. Now for the taste, it is bold with spices, you pick up on cinnamon and nutmeg, then pumpkin. You also pick up on a decent amount of grains and malts. There is a lot going on in this pumpkin ale. This pumpkin ale has a bit more spices than most on the market, but it gives this brew a nice kick, that is a good thing. There really is nothing overpowering about New Holland Ichabod Ale, it a has a real nice balance to. I can't get over how smooth this ale goes down. This a fine drinking pumpkin brew, really puts you that pumpkin pie state. This is one pumpkin brew I can really enjoy. The mouth feel of New Holland Ichabod Ale is Spicy , Bold, Clean , Smooth, and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving New Holland Ichabod Ale a 4.75 out of 5. I would definitely buy this brew again. New Holland Brewing Company, did a real nice job with this brew.

A: pours to a 1 finger head with some lingering froth over an amber body.
S: subtle pumpkin notes with an light touch of nutmeg. Very light on the spice smell.
F:Soft small bubbles make for a smooth drink of medium body.
T:Some pumpkin seems to strike first but very well integrated with the malt/grain the follows. A trace of nutmeg through out like a guide. Slight tart flavor from hops or pumpkin? despite that finishes clean no lingering flavors, very tidy.
O: I feel this is a decent beer with a touch of pumpkin and nutmeg. It is not sweet or a spice bomb. They give you a beer with a light touch of something different. I would perfer a stronger roasted pumpkin flavor but this isn't bad.

Pours a ruddy brown/amber color into the trusty old tulip. A little over a finger of off white foam. Good retention, no lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, malt, pumpkin flesh. Taste is a nice spice blend without the cinnamon becoming too overpowering, followed by bready malt, pumpkin, green apple, white grapes. Something to have every fall.

I got this beer at my local Krogers at a make your own six pack station. Poured quite nicely, and as a person that doesn't particularly enjoy pumpkin beers this one kinda takes the cake. It isn't overpowering and has a really decent lighter flavor than most beers of its type. I would gladly drink a sixer of these by a campfire and tell ghost stories.

Tastes like copper amber malts, cinnamon and nutmeg spices, bready caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin, with minty herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice pumpkin ale.

Pours the color of clear apple juice, with a centimeter-thick, fizzy, khaki head. Aroma is of pumpkin, roasted malts, and barley. Pumpkin is forward in the flavor profile, with roasted malts and barley hiding behind. Mouth feel is thin and somewhat fizzy. Overall, it's a pretty good brew. The pumpkin is good, and flavorful, without being over-the-top or fake.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Poured this into a beer glass, it pours a nice copper color with no foam head.

Smells lightly of pumpkin spice, light ale scent, watery.

Tastes like a bitterish ale with a pumpkin spice tone to it.

A bit watery, thin, and not very carbonated it drinks easy like the water feel/taste it has.

overall, wasn't expecting much and didn't get much, looks really good ina glass but the taste is underwhelming.

You do get some pumpkin bust mostly in the nose. Not very robust and hardly tasted it on the tongue. Drinks easily but really an average beer in the pumpkin ale class.

You'd be better served buying Sam Adams Pumkin Ale instead but I give my Michigan beers the first go. Far from NHBC's best work.

1/9...pours a dark rusty amber, fast white foam that mostly settles out. Sweet pumpkin nose, very pie like. Light peppery spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, blended in with a light pumpkin. Noteworthy carbonation but not strong.

From the bottle, it pours orange amber with a small head. Malt a some spice in the nose. Malt and lots of spice in the mouth. Intriguing take on a pumpkin beer.

Orange-amber beer topped with a creamy foam. Smells of nutmeg, allspice, faint cinnamon..definitely pumpkin pie, it's a nice smell. Taste is a bit milder than the smell. It's bready and crackers, boiled pumpkin, with muted nutmeg and allspice, not much cinnamon. So it's not overly spiced, more pumpkin than spice, that's good in my opinion. Medium light body with mild carbonation. Overall it's got some decent pumpkin elements.

As a pumpkin beer fan, I REALLY like this for a session pumpkin beer. Not at all overpowering, but just enough to keep your mouth happy. Can't get enough of this one.

12 ounce bottle served in a pint glass.

Pours an opaque, dark amber color with a 2-finger head. Medium lacing.

Smells of fall spices (cinnamon & nutmeg) and pumpkin.

The taste is pretty good. Spices aren't as harsh as some pumpkin beers.

Not sure if I would buy a whole pack of these but definitely singles from time to time.

A: crystal clear; bronze in color; 1 finger off white head that receded slowly to a thin cap; no lacing;

S: cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice;

T: a blend of pumpkin pie spices up front; nutmeg is predominant at mid-palate - a little harsh like it didn't get cooked off; back to a balance at the end;

M: medium bodied;moderate carbonation; very dry finish;

O: no pumpkin flavor, just the pumpkin pie spices;

Pours a copper color with a finger of head. The nose has mild notes of seasonal spices but nothing overdone by any means. The body is solid and the mouthfeel is mildly creamy. The flavor incorporates pumpkin with pie spices and this offering finishes semi-dry.

There is a bold Amber color in this one. The smell is spicy, heady but not cloying. Notes of cinnamon and clove in the scent, and the taste takes this an adds pumpkin to the mix. Pumpkin is the dominant flavour with a little pop of spice in the aftertaste.

A dark amber color with a thin layer of white head that disappears quickly to leave a bit of lace around the top. Caramel malt and vegetable pumpkin aroma. Taste is similar to the smell with caramel, pumpkin, and light spices. light to medium body and carbonation. Overall nice pumpkin flavors but without any overpowering sweetness.

This is a great pumpkin beer. The look of it is a nice dark amber, clear body, and a nice white head that dissipates pretty quickly. The smell is really nice. Not the strongest smelling pumpkin ale I've tried, but the nose has a nice malty, pumpkin spice aroma to it. It smells a lot like pumpkin pie. Delicious! The taste is always the best part, right? Well Ichabod has a wonderful pumpkin pie flavor with lots of cinnamon up front. It is a really nice taste of fall. The mouthfeel is medium in texture, nice carbonation. The actual pumpkin makes the mouthfeel nice and smooth. Overall, a great pumpkin ale. One of my favorites this year. I would drink this over and over!

Appearance: This beer pours a beautiful deep amber/orange color with a nice tan head that lingers.

Smell: This beer smells like pumpkin pie in a glass. There is a hint of the hops but it is in the background of the spices.

Taste: This beer tastes like it pumpkin pie in a glass. You can taste the pumpkin balanced by the spices. The hops are light and in the background.

Mouthfeel: This has a has a nice sweet body.

Overall: The best pumpkin beers have real pumpkin in the mash. Mediocre pumpkin beers just have the spice blend. This is one of the best pumpkin beers on the market in West Michigan.
