12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass (with a texture inside, which I think killed the lacing).
Appearance - Copper colored. Makes me think it's going to be malty before I even try it. The head disappears quickly. I think my glass may not have been great as it had a weird texture inside.
Smell - Not so aromatic, really. Less than I would have expected. I smell a caramel maltiness more than hops. Maybe a bit of piny hops.
Taste - Good hop flavor, maybe not like a DIPA should have, but it's good. I've had APAs with a hoppier profile than this. Still very tasty. Hardly any bitterness from the hops. The malt flavor is apparent. Not too sweet, just enough to balance the hops.
Mouthfeel - Splendid mouthfeel. Just thick enough to justify the 9.4% alcohol. Carbonation is maybe a bit low. Makes it feel slightly to creamy for the style.
Overall - Perhaps I'm nitpicking with my criticism, because it's actually quite good. I thought maybe it was a bit astringent in the finish, but that seemed to go away after a few sips. I suppose I might have been spoiled by the recent arrival of some west coast IPAs that have made me question what a DIPA should be.

12 oz bottle with a bottling date of 17 May 2016.
Hazy orange-amber body with a very good, off-white head. Patterned sticky lacing left on the glass.
Aroma: quite fruity, mildly pungent, and reeking of "citrus hops".
Flavor: largely follows the aroma. Moderately high bitterness; Hints of spices and soft ripe fruits.
Feel: Medium body and medium+ carbonation.
Overall: a drinkable hop bomb with high but partially hidden alcohol.
