Deep cola brown color. Foams up about half the glass but recedes to a manageable, drinkable level. The aroma is fruity but hard to distinguish what fruit. I could be convinced peaches, but could also be convince citrus. There is a faint cocoa aroma, too. The sourness is not too intense and there is some sweetness balancing. Again, it is difficult to identify the specific fruit, but there is a fruitiness. There also is a cocoa finish, and while I usually like cocoa notes to cherry sours, it just doesn't seem quite right to me in this beer, like the sourness clashes with the slightly bitter cocoa finish. The beer is a little thin in the mouth, but sours often are. While there are a couple interesting flavors, they don't quite work together for me. And they stand out, as if not really melded. I wonder if a Brett presence could help this beer by added some additional complexity. Don't know if Brett was used, but doesn't taste that way

Mild peach flavor with kettle sourness. A great take on the style

22 oz bottle from 10/26/16 poured into a tulip glass. Pours an absolutely dark ruby red with brown highlights with a half finger of head that immediately disappears. Aroma is plum, tart, maybe some cherries and peaches, Overall the aroma is very faint, The taste is plum/peach/pear/cherry with some notes of nuts/grains with a touch of funk on the finish. The mouthfeel is light yet sturdy, a medium level of carbonation that hits the back of the tongue. Overall, its not overpowering in any way, just a moderate blend of some interesting flavors.

Pours an effervescent scarlet-hued brown with a sliver of cream colored head. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Slight sourness, woody & leafy hops

T: Follows the nose, some peach up front, along with dryness, Dryness, tart peach, more woody hops & a touch of leather as this warms, a little hint of cherry too. Finishes dry, tart, puckery with a little peach & cherry, plus woodyness, traces of acidity

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation

Drinks pretty easy depsite the complexity, very nice!

Not a bad brown ale sour. Looks like a brown ale, doesn't have very much aroma, pours with a nice tan head that dissipates slowly leaving no lace. Reminds me a lot of Destihl's sour series Flemish Red, except New Holland's is a bit flat/thin. Has a nice fruity hint at the start that quickly turns dry and tart with slight breadiness finish. Good beer for the price of 5.99 a bomber. But if it were the usual $8 or $9 for 22oz from New Holland, I would have been even more disappointed. The usual quality isn't quite there yet, even though it is a good one.

Pours a dark amber color and highly carbonated with thick head that thins to a lace. Smells like an amber ale with hints of peaches. Starts off sweet with hints peaches, but turns sour and dry and it goes down. My first American Wild Ale and sour beer and I found this one rather pleasing, but then again I'm rarely disappointed with New Holland beers.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Dark brown with red highlights. Two fingers of head quickly fade to a cap with ring around the edge of the glass. Smells of slight funk, peaches, brown sugar, and lemon peel. Tastes like the smell. Perfect balance between sweet malt, peach, and tart. Really enjoyable and you can't beat the price.

Poured into a nonic pint.
L=Very dark brown...almost an unappealing black, but very nice foamy head.
S=Rather faint aroma of malt and peaches.
T=The first sip was awesome--just a hint of peaches against a creamy malt backdrop. Alcohol taste came out more in the second half. Sourness was in the background and appeared a bit more towards the end.
F=More sessionable than I anticipated.
O=I was worried that either the malt, peach, or sourness would dominate, but was glad to see that they found a perfect balance of the three...this would be an awesome beer to refresh with when a warmer day turns into a cooler evening. I would try this on tap and probably will buy again down the road.
