Sweet, whiff of Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies, and hint of cinnamon aromatics on this one. Ha!

12 fl oz bottle sealed with new holland pressure cap.

bottled on 06/02/2017.

poured into HF wine stem.

Appearance: medium black bodied stout. A head that is light brown in color and pours a big 3 fingers tall head from a hard pour with a cellar temperature beer. Good head retention. Lacing left all over the glass as head recedes.

Smell: There is a ton of vanilla / marshmallow notes that actually over power the bourbon. Lots of graham cracker as well. Hint of light and spicy bourbon. Chocolate is present as well. Maybe even some rootbeer in the aroma.

Taste: Vanilla, bourbon, and sugar cookies. Boozey vanilla extract plus cocoa nibs in their raw and moderately bitter form. Lingering marshmallow sweetness in the finish mixing with a spicy, yet lightly bitter char note of bourbon barrels and tobacco.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied stout. Low carbonation that is adequate. Thinner body than preferred for a barrel aged stout, but it still works here. Very rich and almost moderate booze level.

Overall: Another solid Dragons milk variant. I was really surprised to taste the sugar cookies in this beer and no graham cracker had translated into the flavor of this beer. Yet the nose has tons of graham cracker aroma present. This is really good if you love vanilla in your barrel aged stouts. Its very sweet and rich vanilla. Might need some time to meld together as some of the flavors are not fully cohesive yet, but I can easily see them coming together nicely in the next 3 to 6 months.

L. Typical black stout. Slight head.

S. Huge smore smell. Graham crackers all over.

T. Graham crackers start again and marshmallow follows. The barrel kicks in towards the end. But it all comes together nicely.

F. Very smooth and creamy. Slight alcohol burn at the end.

O. Great variation. They were going for the smore taste and they hit it on the head.

Pours dark brown. Foamy, short, light brown head that lasts shortly. Lasting ring.

Smells chocolate, vanilla, Graham cracker, nutty, roast malt, light bourbon and alcohol.

Tastes dark chocolate, roast malt, marshmallow, Graham cracker, caramel, light vanilla, light bourbon and light alcohol heat. Finish is Semi sweet with roast and bourbon linger. Medium body and lightly fizzy medium carbonation.

Dragons milk version of KBS. Not as FULL full body as I would prefer, but still phenomenal!

Bottled 6/12/17
12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

Pouring a rich ruby brown this one mostly blacks out the glass as it forms a thick foamy khaki colored head with nice lacing.

The nose is interesting and as well as delicious. At first I was getting individual notes of vanilla, light chocolate, something marshmallow like but not quite and a light nutty/ bready aroma that while nice didn't come across as graham cracker to me. It took me a minute to realize that the overall impression is ice cream! It is damn close to a toasted almond ice cream bar! As far as flavor, the bourbon barrel comes through well along with cocoa, roasted malt and coconut. There is a bit of hop flavor as well, adding to the roasty bitterness. There is some apparent alcohol and plenty of heat at the bitter/ tangy finish. The medium body is smooth and creamy but there is some tongue bite from the carbonation and alcohol at the finish.

For me this is a great dessert beer, I couldn't keep my nose out of the snifter. It didn't come across as s'mores but I don't really care. I wish I had bought more than one as I think it may age nicely.

Smells and tastes just like graham and marshmallows. Best s’mores beer I have tried so far.

I really enjoy the original Dragon's Milk, however, I found it hard to escape the bourbon flavor.

This S'mores variant of the Dragon's Milk balances everything VERY impressively to me; I doubted the beer's ability to translate the flavors considering my criticism of the original.

Pours very similar to it's father. Dark and smooth with a lighter head (I think the S'mores may produce a lighter head). Immediately after pouring even, I smell perfectly what the beer delivers: an extremely solid S'mores flavor with a wonderful bourbon balance.

I experience this beer in very distinct layers that seem to mesh and blend as it goes down. First taste for me was a more rounded bourbon flavor, strong chocolate flavors. Quickly after I noticed strong graham cracker followed by a nicely executed vanilla that seriously helps bring the marshmallow in.

I have tried 4 or so S'mores beers and this one did it incredibly.
A dessert beer that isn't too sweet, an almost hidden 11% weight and a present but not overbearing bourbon flavor.

Very impressed. Makes me more eager to find and try some of the other Dragon's Milk variants out there.

Didn't like this fresh but aged 11 months it's delicious. Very balanced with bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla with hints of graham crackers along with a creamy, fluffy marshamello texture. This beer was best aged, poured into a snifter, and drunk warm.

Amazing. This is the type of Dragon’s Milk Reserve that New Holland is known for. Tried this one on tap at Knickerbocker New Holland. Nice very dark brown, almost black color with a little tan head and very spotty lingering lacing. Smells of nice toasted graham cracker and just a little bourbon. Tastes of toasted graham cracker, creamy marshmallow, vanilla, wood, bourbon, caramel, malt and some faint type of spice. Very smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Just the right amount of carbonation. I don’t even like s’mores but I would drink this any given day. High ABV is very well-hidden. Very well done! Amazing beer from an amazing brewery with very high standards (and expectations) for their Dragon’s Milk Reserve line.
