look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 3.75

Poured into a tulip.

Pours hazy and golden orange with a nice lingering head and super lacing.

Light caramel malt aromas join modest tropical aromas along with tangerine, mango, peach.

The flavors follow the nose. Honey and caramel kissed malts with mango, tangerine, faint pineapple. Crackery in midstream. Finishes a little grassy and tingly with a touch of booze.

Great mouthfeel. Medium but well carbonated and drying at the finish.

It isn't a spectacular NEIPA but it's pretty tasty.

Drinking this one from the can; but somehow I've had this one several times before and not rated. Aroma is, as expected, orange juice. Flavor is reminiscent of Faygo Orange Pop with some pine at the finish. Very nice feel, smooth with a slight prickly carbonation. Worth a pickup now and again.

Hazy straw color, fluffy white head slowly recedes to a cap; Mild IPA smell; Tangy, nicely carbonated; Flavor is not pronounced, quite mild for an IPA, slightly citrus; No hint of the 6.8% ABV - tastes like a session ale.

Poured into narrow tulip pint glass: color is hazy copper, head is dense and presents 1.5 fingers thick and then linger well with some lacing.

Smell is strong citrus juice, mild hop aroma with light citrus rind, some light sweet malt mixed in.

Taste is citrus/tangerine juice blended with mild malt, its sweet but from the juice and remaining malt, hop flavors are citrus with limited earth and grass-like notes; a bit too citrus juicy without much hop depth.

Mouthfeel is crisp, moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness and drying.

Overall a brew that just misses the mark with a bit too much citrus/tangerine juice and limited malt/hop depth.

L: Hazy, gold and foamy. Lots of fine head that leaves rings as you go down the glass. Unfiltered.

S: Hoppy. Not an herbal hoppy, but an oily one.

T: Easygoing. Only 40IBU. Still decently oily (my favorite way to take a hop). Tastes great. It could be your next favorite Hazy IPA.

F: The tangerine bitter and the hop bitter hit the same area of the palate and it's nice.

O: The price is high, but so is the quality.

This can was short of three months old, so the hops may have faded a bit since there was literally no hop presence or bitterness. Looks pretty good when poured into a pint glass. Soft, pillowy white head, orange/gold in color. Nose is tangerine, oranges, some stone fruits, sweet pale malts. Mouthfeel is light to medium. Drinks like a session IPA. Can't detect the 6.8%. Its an OK beer, but without any complexity, at all.

Look of the brew and packaging deserve a much higher rating than the taste. Very disappointed in this brew , there’s nothing tangerine about it. No citrus, no fruit. Pretty disappointing after the first sip especially from an established brewery such as NHBC. Better luck next time guys.

look: 3.25 | smell: 3 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Appearance: A darkish, darkened orange-golden body with a moderate amount of haze within, not particularly turbid. Half-inch high layering of white foam.

Smell: Sweet, juicy tangerines with a backnote of barley, wheat stew. The tangerine addition overshadows

Taste: Citrusy, bittersweet with some perceived juiciness (also some slight oiliness) leaning towards a tangerine flavor. Touch of dough. Medium bitterness. Seemingly citrusy, lightly grassy hop quality, but the tangerine additive distracts. Soundly bittersweet finish with the same tangerine bent from the first sip. It leaves me wondering on its recipe design and formulation. States it uses Galaxy and Citra, both fine, admirable, expressive hops. So, why the need to mask them with supplemental tangerine?

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Citrus Fruit Flavor IPA's. I had thought we left those to languish as a fun curiosity in the past, much like the Twilight movies. But, here we are. A nigh passable beer, but that's if it is excused the tangerine powdered drink mix vibe with what really doesn't easily fit as a NE-IPA.

Pours a hazy amber with one pinky of cream colored head. Average head retention & a little better lacing

S: Sour orange, grassyness, fades down the stretch

T: Follows the nose, plenty of dryness as well up front. Sweet & tart orange mixes with a powdery dryness as this warms. Finishes dry with a little sour orange & some lime

MF: Medium body, fairly creamy carbonation, good balance

A passable take on the style, nothing to get too excited about

Had on tap in an American pint at New Holland Brewery. Pours a hazy orange with slight amber color. Smells strong of juicy tangerine. Carbonation hits first, followed by a very strong tangerine juice. Finishes slightly bitter, surprisingly easy to drink. Feels somewhat thick, but not too much for a NEIPA.

From a can, 6/17/18 it looks like. Purchased 11/21/18, which is a big gap if so.
Look: Hazy copper colored body, off white foam head, floaty bits that aren't that appealing
Smell: Fruity, citrus, earthy green hops, sweet
Taste: Caramely malt offsets the sweetness of citrus kind of like a wood cleaner spray, earthy floral hops, not too much hop bitterness, more fruity hops
Feel: Thick, fuzzy, foamy, resinous body, moderate carbonation, pretty smooth though.
Overall: Ok NEIPA. Probably would not seek out again, but will drink it and enjoy it for what it is. Turned off by the floaty blobs and bits.

You will definitely get the tangerines out of this beer, not too bitter, not too malty either, slight sour, I like it. At least now I can say that I have had a beer with tangerine fruit in it. Cheers! B

Its a New England so its good when it's good its decent when it's decent. The tangerine can mask when it gets bad. Better in the can than in the keg.

12 oz Can. Pours a hazy orange color with a lasting white head. The aroma was of citrus, tropical fruits and hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more citrus, tropical fruits, hops, malts with medium carbonation and a semi-bitter aftertaste.

Happy New New Holland/Belgium Beer Sunday (Week 698) as The CANQuest (tm) CANtinues to roll through a backlog of CANs! I have been CANticipating today for over a week as I cleared space in the reefer in preparation. Dr. Joel Armato of New Holland has been alerted & all systems are Green & Go!

From the CAN: "Proudly Brewed in Holland, Michigan"; "New England-Style India Pale Ale"; "Citrus*Juicy[*]Hazy".

The Crack!ing open of the vent on this one brings the CAN portion of my New New Holland Beer Sunday to a close. It will be bottles for the remainder of the day. Once Crack!ed open, I performed a slow, gentle Glug for no particular reason other than I don't feel like dealing with a mess. It still managed to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head on its own, evincing good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was citrusy, all right, but it smelled like sweet oranges or orange marmalade or something involving oranges & sweetness. It did NOT smell like an AIPA, though. Where was the pine? Where was the grapefruit? Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very much of sweet oranges & while pleasant, it really was not in tune with the style. Finish was semi-sweet to semi-dry & still very orangish, even well past the swallow. I didn't mind it, but it was not going to scratch my hophead itch.

Second New Holland brew of the night. Gonna be a helluva job to live up to that sinister vertigo I just had. But I'm always hopeful if not a touch nihilistic.

Look - Well it's pretty much a sunset orange with a finger of froth that lays atop the brew for an extended period of time. Carbonation comes across as moderate.

Smell - Some orange instead of tangerine with a middle ground of malt. Citrus is there though chopped in half by the malts for sure.

Taste - Orange is again at the forefront but the malts meet for an off twang that gives it a not quite realistic though perhaps artificial tidbit. Maybe like a somewhat past date orange with a slice of wet bread is a good way to sum up this flavor profile. Wo gehts nach tangerine?.

Feel - More citrusy as it sits but as I've stated already this beer is as much a malt show as it is a hop show. Swallows a touch thick.

Overall - As much as I absolutely adore New Holland this is not a good example of an NE IPA. Matter of fact this thing was only slightly above average in my opinion for a typical single IPA. Big up is the sweetest doesn't dominate. Otherwise it's much like any other single IPA. Give it a shot and come to your own conclusions.

Delicious, very surprisingly tasty NE-style IPA from a great local brewery. Pours a nice hazy peach-yellow color, nice head with some lingering lacing. Smells of tangerine and orange zest. Tastes of fruity hops, tangerine up there in the front but followed closely by orange, lemon and grapefruit. Nice amount of bitterness, also has some nice malt and biscuit in the background. Fairly thin but satisfying mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation throughout. Very impressed - will keep an eye out for this one on tap.

Canned 3/1/18; drank 4/17/18 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a huge white head; strong, frothy lace.

Orange Crush notes in the nose; um...is this an orange soda?

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Orange Crush flavors up front; faint wheat dryness on the finish.

This is nearly a facsimile of an Orange Crush or an orange Fanta...palatable, certainly, but just buy a damn orange soda if that's what you're looking for.

Fantastic golden haze appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, and mango. Taste of tangerine, biscuit, honey, herbal, and floral grassy earthiness. Juicy and lightly dank. Not particularly sweet or heavy.

Pours a bright orange.

Tangerine, orange, and citrus.

Citrus forward, but a little heavy handed on the tangerine addition, which doesn't let the hop bill shine.

Light-bodied, medium-high carbonation, fruity, clean.

Overall, a drinkable brew, but would like to see the fruit addition dialed down.
