Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark cola brown pour... nearly black with a solid finger of brown head. Falls quickly leaving a thin rim of lacing.
S: Dark roasted grains... coffee... cocoa... very faint mint. Smells like Christmas morning almost.
T/F: Follows the nose nicely. Charred grains and dark sugars mingle with espresso to provide some nice bittersweet flavors. The mint shows up mid-swig... and is more pronounced while the beer is still chilled... and then at the aftertaste you get a nice burst of chocolate. Rich and boozy.... definitely warming, and the flavors become much more nuanced as it warms up to room temp.
O: An excellent take on the Dragon's Milk series... and they have without exception (I've had maybe 5 of them now) been delicious. I'm not a huge mint fan but still really enjoyed this beer. It was made for winter... and definitely one to enjoy around the holidays.

I got a 4pck of bottles of this beer from my local meijer store. It poured an opaque dark with thin ecru ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had mint chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet chocolate malt base with mint presence and a subtle bourbon finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with smoove carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

2017 aged poured into a snifter - thin black pour with little head risen to the surface.
Getting aromas of mint, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits, molasses. Definitely can smell the bourbon in this one.
Getting slight mint up front followed by a bourbon back up then slight hints of the dark fruits. Didn't actually get much vanilla or molasses in this but it's very nice.
Body is thin, ABV is noticeable with the bourbon taste, mild carbonation.
This one I saw in a beer shop at the very back of the rack and had to try this. Glad I did and was worth a try as it's very different from the other Dragon's milk stouts I've tried in the past.

Unknown vintage; drank 10/5/19 @ the Beer Temple.
VERY thin mouthfeel, and the mint notes are pretty much the only flavor. Can't say I'd recommend this to anyone.

Roughly a 1 year old bottle.
Pours with minimal head, dark, ok lacing, but poor legs it seems.
Nose is chocolate, mint, fudge, a bit of spice almost cinnamon, and then a bit of more mellow sweeats reminding me more of bread or sugar cookies.
The taste brings out the same as above with a lot of mint followed by chocolate but then it turns into this rather citrus/fruity finish that I guess gives off more of that sugar cookie note before the after taste is all mint with some lingering coffee notes.
The mouth feel is down right awful. Way too thin, perhaps it needed to be fresh for more carbonation, but right now it's killing this beer.
It's interesting and if you want mint it brings it all there.
