A - Very dark brown pour with very thick and creamy toffee colored thick lacing that clings to the sides of the glass.

S - Banana is first and foremost in the nose followed by light chocolate, coconut, and Bourbon.

T - Coconut, banana, and Bourbon dominate this beer from start to finish with some chocolate in between. No fluctuation from start to finish, period.

M - Thick, silky, and lip smacking sticky. Initially finishes dry on the back of the tongue and wet on the front. Migrates to a slippery coagulating milk-like finish on the palate.

O - The aroma and taste shine but the feel gets a little too cloying.

Surprisingly apparent banana flavor, slight coconut, nice bourbon finish.

i'm just going to be the odd one out here. was kind of excited for this one, especially with the "real banana" on the bottle. maybe it's there but this smells and tastes like yellow laffy taffy stout. pours a nice enough dark brown, nearly black color with a khaki head that rose really nicely up and went away slowly. but the moment the cap left the beer i was hit with this almost fake banana smell, not quite as bad as most but still not what i wanted. maybe my senses are off but nothing else comes through on the nose. taste is a weird mix of banana and stout like malts and warmth. even after it warmed the barrel didn't show and the coconut is just kind of passing by. drinks just as smooth as normal dragon's milk, with that 11% settling itself away behind everything else until you're done and stumbling around burping up weird banana taste. oh well

Another winner from an always reliable dessert beer series. What pleasantly surprised me was how present the banana was with the coconut. Really didn't let the coconut run too wild. Really present upfront in the smell, and in the lush malt background in the taste. Coconut is aromatic partner that finishes the taste well. Almost like a banana daiquiri in a stout. The wife liked

Oh man...I wanted to love this one so badly. I love banana, I love coconut, and I thought for sure I’d love the tropical feeling this beer was sure to evoke. But...no. Tried this one on tap at Knickerbocker New Holland. Looks great, dark black color with a little tan head and very spotty lingering lacing. Smells strongly of banana, with just a faint amount of coconut in the distant background. But then I tried it - and man did the coconut smack me in the face. It just overwhelmed all the other flavors and drinking this reminded me of the smell of sunscreen at the beach. I was hoping for more of the “tropical drink at the beach” taste. Also had some creamy vanilla and malt. The bourbon and wood were very distant. Smooth moderately creamy mouthfeel and good carbonation. High ABV is very well-hidden. I was just put off by the sunscreen feel of this beer. Bummer.

Appearance - Pours black with thick dense tan head that settles to a thick cap with sheets of lacing.

Aroma - Huge banana up front, not getting a ton of coconut, little bourbon and maybe a hint of oak. The banana adds a sweet aroma that dominates the nose.

Taste - Taste reminds me of banana pudding, tons of banana, very mild coconut, chocolate, bourbon is a little more pronounced than in the nose.

Feel - High side of medium smooth, slightly creamy. Getting some warming from the alcohol nice finish.

Overall - I really like this one, like liquid banana pudding in a glass. Flavors work well together little sweet maybe but tasty.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours dark as night with a substantial (but quickly dissipating) tan head. Nose if BANANA! Wow - this is really dominant and it's awesome. Getting a lot of chocolate and caramel as well. Getting some coconut - reminds me of Malibu (the drink). Not really picking up any bourbon. Taste is really interesting. Much more complex than the nose. Getting some roasted malts, banana, dark chocolate, coconut, dark fruit (cherries), and a some bitterness. The bourbon barrel is slightly detectable, but the banana and coconut (in my opinion) dominate. Picking up a little bit of coffee flavor - closer to a french roast. Alcohol is not detectable. Mouthfeel is viscous and creamy. Overall, a really interesting beer. I can't say that I've tried many with banana, so this is new to me. I would buy again.

the alcohol burn is way out of place, otherwise this score very high....
