Purchased by my wife as part of Father’s Day beer haul 2022. She got it because I’ve never had a white stout. I love dragons milk original though so it might be hard to compare to that. Today I drove 6 hours from New Orleans to Memphis and I’m plum tuckered out. I went to order something at the hotel bar and the bartender looked at his watch and said to me “it’s 10:01, we closed at 10 and cannot serve you”. Said like a Snide little 23 year old dick. So I’m up here with the dragons milk white and a cheap plastic hotel cup. Looks like it’s a dark golden first pee of the morning kind of color with a bright white half inch head. This beer has zero smell. I tried swirling the cup and still nothing. Maybe it’s the stupid little 6 oz cup. I don’t know. Well it’s certainly not getting too many points for scent. Now a taste. This tastes a bit like a severely taste impaired Guinness but with way less char and dark toasty flavors. It’s like a watered down stout. There’s not a lot of flavor popping here. Nothing that makes it stand out or gives it a unique taste. I can’t even believe this stuff was BA. I get no bourbon traces whatsoever. Mouthfeel is thin and bubbly. Overall I’m definitely not impressed. Maybe this was a gimmick beer? I’ll definitely stick with original DM because that is truly a delicious and flavorfully strong brew.

From as 12oz can:
Appearance: Hazy gold, thin head.
Smell: Very slight, finally picked up some vanilla pudding.
Taste: Vanilla and almond flavor, red cherry flavor. Kind of strange, almost tastes like a cocktail but with more body, since it's a beer.
Overall: I thought this was going to be something like DKML from Founders since I knew nothing about it. Then after closer examination of the can, it's only 6% or so. One of the more uniquely flavored beers in that it was so almond and cherry-like that it didn't really taste much like beer. It wasn't bad, and I might actually get another can or two for a curveball every once in a while.

Look: Opened from a 12 oz can bought from total wine and more. Pours a light to medium golden hazy color with heavy foam rising quickly - but dissolves just as quickly over the span of a minute to five. Light lacing is left as this is dissolving quickly.
Smell: Getting notes of caramel as well as malts, definitely getting some barrel smells in there too.
Taste: Very caramelized taste followed by the sweetness from the bourbon and malts. Tastes a bit to caramel in my opinion. Maybe artificial flavors were slightly added?
Feel: light carbonation, pretty smooth going down. Easy sipper.
Overall: This was an experience but compared to the advertised Dragon's milk, this surprised me a lot. It was not nearly as good as the heavy 12% beer. Wouldn't recommend this beer unless your one to try different beers in general.

Looks are fairly good, a nice golden hue with bubbles forming down the glass
Smell is barely noticeable, either I catched covid or this thing barely has any smell
Taste initially was around a 2.5-2.75, however this was in a glass and was my first time enjoying it. However the 2nd time I tried it, it was leagues better and infact I had it out of the can instead of a glass. This shocked me as it almost tasted like a completely different beer. Out of a glass it was far too sweet but from a can it was milder making it almost the perfect sweetness level. In a glass it had quite a noticeable bourbon aftertaste (I don't really fancy this but some might), while out of a glass it was much less noticeable. In short, while in a glass the beer's flavors are far too strong. The can tones it down a notch leading to a much better experience.
The feel was very good and smooth in both the glass and can.

12 oz can, dated 3/5/21. Pours hazy orange amber with a medium fine white head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is a mish mash of lactose, vanilla, fruit and bourbon.
The flavor is sweet lactose and vanilla with a roast finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, overly sweet and not great.

Day 3 of the 2021 advent calendar.
It looked a bit like a stout, in the glass, but the head just disappeared almost right after pouring. Not much aroma; bad sign. Slight haze but otherwise a nice color--if it wasn't a stout, that is.
The first sip says, "Something's wrong". I can only detect the bourbon barrel and a lot of sweetness after the burnt coffee flavour goes away. Not roasted malt flavour-- burnt coffee. About 2/3 through it had subdued my taste buds into submission and the final third tasted a tiny bit better. But it was a struggle to finish.
I know why White Stouts aren't a popular trend now, I guess.

Scrappy notes from early 2020.
12 ounce cans. Poured into a pint glass.
Looks like stout with the cascading downward head bubbles with a fairly thick firm head and is golden in color.
It tastes sweet and is soft and creamy with a slightly dirty coffee taste and a gritty mouthfeel but still has a true Irish stout feel to it. Good tasting and very refreshing.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a pint glass
This beer pours a brilliant golden hue. It is topped with a couple inches of beige head that leaves decent lacing.
Coffee and chocolate aroma
Light coffee and chocolate flavor. Some oak
Medium bodied with a dryish feel
Definitely a watered down version of the Mother beer. One was enough. Not bad but disappointing compared to the real deal.

Picked up a 12 oz single can from TW-Greenville SC 7-19-21 for $3.49. Canned 4-23-21; consumed 10-25-21.
Beer poured a brown tinged gold with a very nice white head.
Nose has hints of mild roast with a hint of chocolate.
Taste is a light malt base that is mildly roasted with an artificial vanilla and chocolate adjunct addition that lends an off flavor. Finishes balanced from the barrel aging that does not present itself but in the background.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and smooth.
Overall not a bad beer but one that i would not seek out going forward.

Tasted from a 12 oz can.
L - Golden color with some orange. Off-white head is creamy but fast-dissipating. The appearance is like a New England IPA, but with a weak head.
S - Malt aroma has some of the burnt grain aroma I associate with porters, but lacking in chocolate or coffee notes. Some oak, vanilla and cinnamon. It's nice, but I wouldn't necessarily think of Bourbon if I didn't know what this beer was.
T - No hops flavors are evident. Malt flavors are reminiscent of those in a stout, but muted. Especially lacking in any roasted grain flavors. Faint Bourbon whiskey flavors.
F - Medium to heavy body. Low carbonation. Low hops bitterness. Light alcohol presence.
O - There's nothing wrong with this beer. It's got some nice highlights here and there, but overall I find it bland and uninteresting, especially in comparison to the original Imperial Stout version.

Looks kind of like a murky honey color. One solid finger of head made of tight white bubbles popping open to pockets on the head. Carbonation bubbles visible on the side of the glass. Nice lacing down the glass.
Picking up a hint of creamy bourbon on the smell. Its like a bit of sweet mixed in with bourbon coming up to the nose.
Taste is creamy and sweet up front. Chocolate is present as well. Getting just a tickle of bitter from the chocolate. Picking up a bit of bourbon creaminess with just a bit of something like some lightly charred wood.
Mouth feel is a fairly light medium with a slight lingering finish. The finish is nice with that bit of woody sweetness to it.
Overall a nice looking beer. Does not look like a stout and would be great to have someone who is afraid of the dark beers to try this. The smell is nice and friendly. Almost inviting one to take a drink. The taste is just slightly dark with a bit of bitter in it and a little bite of bourbon. Yet the main flavor profile seems to be an almost decadent sweet cream theme going on and playing with the bourbon and chocolate flavors. New Holland really does an amazing job with this one and I really enjoyed this. Just wish I had bought more than one can each for me and the wife. Several six packs would be great to have on hand when you want a simply delicious decadent beer.

From the can, it pours a hazy light amber color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a whiff of vanilla. The flavor is slightly chocolatey with notes of vanilla and stout.

There's not a lot to the smell on this. It's sweet smelling with hints of bourbon and beer.
The taste is really mild too. There's a background of stout and even further back there some woody bourbon.
It's medium bodied with just a little fizz. The finish is bitter, sweet, bready and then gone.
It's a really refreshing drink. Like a bourbon barrel stout for someone who is afraid of bourbon, barrels and cautiously curious about stout. I give it a 4 out of 6.
