I bought it because it was a really good deal on a ba stout. All I can say is it’s not nearly as bad as I imagined.
Raspberry and hibiscus are very dominant in smell and taste. Otherwise par for course for the general NH Dragons milk standards.

Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering half of the top. The aroma is of raspberry jelly and hibiscus. I’m tasting a blend of raspberries and hibiscus. Equally tart fruit and herbal flower. The mouth is dry and thick.

I have had some dessert beers in my time, but this might be the most potent one of them all...

I don't think New Holland was trying to create a dessert beer with this brew at 11% ABV, but it works like one in my book. The bourbon blends very well with the raspberry and malty flavoring, and there's even enough roast in the background not overpowered by the 11%. The smell is deliciously sweet with an almost perfect blending of the malts, the raspberry, and the bourbon - getting to experience these scents and flavors at once is a huge bonus I reward. The look is perfectly black, with a reddish hint in the light while the mouthfeel has a creamy though hinting loose (i.e., watery texture).

Anyway, dessert beer or not, this is a fantastic way to end the evening, especially on Thanksgiving 2019.

Look: Very dark brown. One finger of tan head with good retention.

Smell: Strong raspberry scent, with hibiscus being a milder part. Sweet and fruity overall.

Taste: Sweet raspberry and hibiscus. Barely any malt and basically no hop bitterness. Hardly a beer flavor.

Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy with good carbonation.

Overall: Extremely fruity and sweet, to the point where it may turn off some people.

Poured from a bottle - Dark as night with short chocolate milk head leaving minimal lacing. Nose is sweet like chocolate covered raspberries and a whiff of hibiscus . Taste follows exactly -not really anything else.Finish is on the thin side with a bit of dryish barrel wood at the very end.

Standard deep, dark Dragon's Milk color. Smooth head with scents of roasted grain, and definitely some raspberry sweetness. This smells like a raspberry truffle. Well, it also tastes like a raspberry truffle. Not so much so that it's off-putting. A flavored stout for sure but I love Dragon's Milk, in any varietal, and this makes the cut. Smooth mouthfeel and overall very enjoyable.

Poured with almost no head, nearly black color. Somehow balances both raspberry and hibiscus smells. Not quite as strong a bourbon flavor as standard Dragon's Milk, which I actually prefer. Excellent balance of raspberries and hibiscus throughout drinking, would definitely buy again (despite the price haha).

I got a bottle of this from my good friend and old neighbor from Oswego....I think. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had raspberry and field flower notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle chocolate malt base bolstered by raspberry and hibiscus highlights. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

A: Pours a pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves decent lacing

S: Roasted malt, raspberry, bourbon, dark chocolate, light hibiscus, and caramel

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt, raspberry, and bourbon and then picks up some caramel and hints of hibiscus. Raspberry lingers for a long while. Finishes with lingering raspberry, bourbon, and roast

M: Medium-full bodied with low-moderate carbonation. Smooth

O: A solid iteration of Dragon’s Milk that really showcases the raspberry. Makes for a nice sipper

12 oz. bottle.
Bottled 03/13/19.
55 degrees at pour.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a one and a half inch pinkish tan head over a black body with some sticky lacing. Nose of all raspberry at first and after a few minutes, the base beer's aromas come out from under a ton of raspberry. Hibiscus, dark malt, and chocolate are observed in that order with slighter whiskey. Taste mirrors nose, and after a few sips the sweetness subsides a little and you are rewarded with a bit of whiskey on the finish. Nice feel and overall, yes, I'd have another. Cheers!

L: Cola brown in color and settles near black. About a finger of a dense khaki-colored cap formed from the pour and demonstrated nice retention. Lacing levels are pleasing, being on the upper side of moderate for a stout of this stature.
S: Smells quite nice. A decent amount of both raspberry and floral hibiscus present, with underlying aromas of roasted malts. Barrel presence becomes more pronounced as it warms, which is expected.
T: Quite enjoyable as well. Raspberry flavor is present from start to finish, and hibiscus tails plays catch up on the finish but establishes itself more in the after taste, alongside malt flavor. No barrel flavor but slight warming feeling. It is advertised as raspberry and hibiscus, and it tastes like that. Raspberry is slightly artificial and sweet, reminding me of an otter pop or something, but it is enjoyable nonetheless.
F: Thinner than I would prefer, but the smoothness and creaminess that it embodies redeems that quality. Light in weight, light to medium in body with moderate carbonation. Barrel presence is minimal with a smooth creamy texture.
O: I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but I am pleasantly surprised. As will all of these Reserve variants, I will try any one that I am able to. I am very glad to try. Cheers!

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

Dark brown with a thin off-white lacing.

Nose: Completely dominated by raspberry, very sweet. A bit on the artificial side.

Taste: Similar to the nose - dominated by raspberry. Hibiscus is present as well, but there is virtually no stout backbone at all, just sweet fruit and hibiscus.

Feel: Medium body, low carbonation.

12 ounce bottle, bottled 03/13/2019. Served in a Dragon's Milk chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around for a while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like raspberry, hibiscus, roasted malt, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a bit of burnt/charred malt and dark chocolate flavors noticeable too. Don't really pick up much of any bourbon here, guess it's overpowered by the raspberry and hibiscus as it's mostly fruity/flowery tasting. To me it's a good sweeter tasting imperial stout. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick, smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall I liked this brew a lot, I think it's worth trying if you can pick up a single of it. $5.00 a single bottle.
