Had this from tap while at a college hockey tournament at Joe Louis Arena, the Great Lakes Invitational. Because of the location, it was poured into a plastic cup. Despite this, it held its head well and had great lacing. It has rye bread smell with a strong toasted malt taste, and a it of chocolate. It went great with Tim Horton's Polish sausage

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Murky brown color.

Tan head; spotty lace.

Nuts & chocolate in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Flavor follows nose, but this is a touch cloying. Not bad but not great.

Dark, almost porter-like dark. Tall tan head that recedes slowly. Lightly carbonated. Nice nutty aroma with hints of chocolate. Smooth mouth feel, not thin. Mild initial taste that follows the aroma, with a chocolaty taste transitioning to some bittering in the middle and finish.

From the 12 fl. oz.. bottle that was filled on 10/11/16. Sampled on December 12, 2016 so a tick over two months old.

The pour is a nice looking mahogany brown, slightly foggy, with reddish hues on the glass's edges and a long lasting, soft tan head.

Medium body mostly.

The taste is quite sweet and malty with maybe a touch of nuts behind ti - but mainly sweet. Low bitterness does not make this stand out. But as far as the style goes - it is on target with nothing more or nothing less.

Drank from 12oz bottle.

Look: dark brown with a hint of red, thin head, no lacing
Smell: burnt caramel
Taste: malt, caramel, raisins
Feel: heavy, rich, moderately carbonated

Overall: not bad, but brown ales aren't my thing. I'd still try again though

Nice deep amber with a fairly decent head

Aroma doesn't excite me

Not sure where to rate the taste, very drinkable, but not any taste that really stands out.

I have had better and worse. Very drinkable.
