Pours clear brown with good head. Smells like acidic malt, oak, and vanilla. Taste of vanilla sour acidic nutty malt with dry oak and vanilla in the finish.

22 oz bomber into a teku glass

2014 batch, opened the date of this review

Brew pours light and effervescent, bubbly like a soda with a half-inch head quickly dissipating. Dark brown in color, completely opaque.

Oaky nose, with subtle notes of unripe berries and cherries. Lactic aspects are subdued.

Flavors follow, but with a caramelly nuance midsip. Tastes more like a classic Flanders red than a wild ale. Light complexion ushers in a short, tart finish.

Tasty but unremarkable.

L:. Pours a cloudy purple red that looks a bit like raspberry jam, with very little head and no lacing.

S:. Some strawberry, raspberry and other berries, a touch of caramel and vanilla, smells tart. Also a note of vinegar.

T:. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry and other berries, a touch of caramel, a touch of tartness, a slight touch of vinegar.

F:. Light body, bubbly carbonation.

O:. Not a bad sour but there are ones I like out there quite a bit.

A: dark brown in color with a small head.

S: tart with berry notes and caramel.

T: tart with berry flavors and a touch of vinegar. A lot more barrel flavor than I would have thought, good oak, some vanilla, and a touch of bourbon.

M: light in body with fairly active carbonation.

O: overall I'm pretty pleased with this. Especially for the price.
