Pours thick with a small head. Medium plus expressiveness on the nose, showing chocolate milk, coffee, and subtle vanilla hints. Big, thick, and creamy in the mouth - carbonated chocolate milk with a little bourbon kick. Definitely a niche beer, very focused flavors, but very delicious - I like it.

A great beer avail year round. A bit to thin for the style.

L: Dark brown, almost black, small creamy tan head, inviting
S: Smells strong, boozy, like bourbon. Also chocolatey, nutty, and sweet.
T: Malty, strong alcoholic taste, sweet, chocolatey, hints of vanilla and nuttiness.
F: well carbonated, smooth, slightly heavy, burns as it goes down throat like bourbon.
O: a strong after tasted, could see it pairing well with ice cream. I liked this beer and thought it was very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Great beer. Smooth and drinkable for a 11%ABV. Bourbon aging is apparent and not overpowering. Has cream notes and subtly chocolate and coffee accents. Well dont. I had some serious "non-sticker" shock at the register when I bought it though, $18 for a 4-pack that was unlabeled on the shelves of my local Craft Brew Cellar.

Not quite black, but getting close. Clean and sharp. Minimal brown head.

Nose is lightly big stout smells (roasty, coffee, dark fruit, maybe some chocolate), with definitely some vanilla, oak and alcohol, but not much. Enjoyable flavour types, but a little underwhelming in general. There's a sweet fruit in there as well in addition to the dark fruits listed above. Can't put my nose on it. Was definitely stronger initially.

Medium thick but sticky, medium carbonation, and a heat to it that's clearly actually from the alcohol, but tastes almost more pepper heat (even though I know better). Flavours of sticky chocolate, some fruit, some coffee, and some definite barreling. Smoothe and dangerously drinkable for 10% even though you can feel every percentage of it. A classic in the genre. My impression has always been that it is to BA stouts essentially what SNPA is to APAs or Black Butte is to porters or Boston Lager is to American viennas. Maybe not the greatest within the style in this golden age of craft, but kind of the bedrock example that serves as a great intro for many.
When I lived in Missouri, I kept meaning to pick it up, but never did because it was always there and I wanted to explore limited/locals first. Much gratitude to @Bulldoza for including it as essentially an extra in his awesome BIF box of mostly Texas locals for the opportunity to correct my above mistake. Thanks Nick!

Didn't love this one. Maybe should have waited for colder weather.

Cask pour. Completely different experience than drinking from the bottle. Had to initially chew through the frothy head to get to the beer. Excellent beer.
