A. Dark black, poor head retention, thin lacing, maybe due oily elements in it??
S. Chocolate and coffee traces well deifned.
T. Good Stout example, with a chocloate dominating flavor and coffee.
M. Creamy beer. Really good feeling in mouth.
O. Excellent beer, this beer beer take me to reconsider and look for Stout styles.

Poured from a bottle into pint glass in October2016.

Appearance: Dark black with a thin tan/brown head. Head is thin, and does not leave much lacing on the glass.

Smell: Strong aroma of roasted malts and coffee. There is a little bitterness from hops and a hint of sweetness like chocolate as well, but overall the roasted coffee dominate the others.

Taste: There is a nice balance between the malts and coffee flavors. There is some smoky roasted flavors, a little chocolate flavor, and hop flavors to enhance the taste and add some complexity. There is a moderate alcohol presence as with other Stout.

Mouth-feel: Moderate, but with a very smooth and creamy body. Not as thick as some other stouts.

This is a typically dark and smokey Stout, but it has a variety of flavors that adds some complexity to the beer. Although this is a tasty beer, it is very smooth and really enjoyable to drink.

Pours near black with a small creamy head that only left specks of lace. Nose is milky, with some earthy chocolate notes. Taste is a bit bolder, with lots of dark chocolate, but fairly simple and straightforward. Creamy medium-light mouthfeel. Overall, a good beer but doesn't stand out.

I got this beer in a single 12oz bottle and poured into a clear beer mug. It pours dark with a light tan head that doesn't linger for too long. It has a nice appearance in the glass. It smells of citrus, chocolate, and light bourbon. Up until this point the beer was decent. I wasn't a big fan of the taste. It was very light. I had a lot of trouble telling the ingredients that I could taste. I could taste light chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. This made it a little creamy too me. The beer had a roasted malt finish. It just seemed light and nothing special. It was drinkable, but it was lacking something. Ill drink It, I'm just not a huge fan of it. I probably wouldn't recommend over some of the alternatives on the market.

Pours a deep brown, near pitch black color with a minimal khaki head. The head is gone quickly but settles into a nice golden halo around the top of the beer.

Aroma brings lots of baker's chocolate and vanilla as well as a hint of dark fruits.

The taste starts off more coffee forward, with some milk chocolate not far behind. There's also some vanilla and cream in the middle. Finishes slightly bitter and roasted.

The feel is medium-light bodied with low carbonation. Very creamy and smooth, yet just a tad thin for my liking. Has a relatively dry finish.

Overall, a very impressive oatmeal stout that is fairly straightforward for the style, but still has a lot to bring to the table. The only knock is the relatively thin body. Otherwise, this is very tasty and highly drinkable.

Pours a dark brown hue with a brown head as well. I thought that I might have tried this in the past but not quite.

Cocoa, roasted coffee and dark fruit in the nose.

Rich with cocoa, cream and roasted coffee upfront.

Texture reminds me of a malted milkshake. It's slick. Nice bitter coffee finish.

This is one of the last beers that I received 2 weeks ago from friends visiting from MI. It's easily one of the best.

Thoroughly enjoyed form the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate. This FINE
stout pours a very nice and dark black with a touch of brown and a nice head
of light tan foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin pool, and nice sudsy lacing
with each sip. Nose show notes of sweet dark chocolate, subtle char, and light
coffee with dark roasted malts. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with dark chocolate
awash in medium dark roasted coffee, a touch of cream, and a subtle herbal hop
bite on the back that is perfect. Excellent mouth feel that drinks more like a good
black ale with a nice touch of char on the rear. Excellent! Always a welcome sight,
especially in "beer hell" season known as Summer time.

Cheers

Look: Nearly black with just a tiny bit of light coming through. Forms a low, thin layer of light tan head which dissipates fairly quickly.

Smell: Mostly chocolate. A little bit of roasted malt and coffee as well, but the chocolate is more present. However, the aroma of this stout isn't very strong at all.

Taste: A lot of complexity happening here with a lot of flavors. Right away, I get roasted malt, but the taste quickly turns sweet. This is where the oats and chocolate balance the taste very well with the roasted malt. It's not too bitter and certainly not too sweet. I might be picking up some dark fruit flavors as well, but it's hard to tell with so much going on in this beer. The aftertaste that is left is a nice roasted coffee.

Feel: Somewhat underwhelming compared to a lot of stouts. The mouthfeel is creamy, but it is a very light creaminess. And there is definitely a moderate carbonation that doesn't overpower the beer, but it's a little unexpected from a stout. Personally, I like very little to no carbonation in my stouts.

Overall: Definitely a tasty stout. I'm glad that I tried this one! If you are looking for a balanced stout that isn't too heavy, roasted, or too sweet, then this might be a good place to start. And the carbonation presence may be welcomed by people transitioning from lighter, more bubbly beers.
