The beer pours out in a golden orange.
The aroma jumps out of bright tropical fruits. Kiwi, starfruit, pineapple, mango, a good amount of dank character on the back.
The flavor hits of that starfruit and bright tropical flavor, along with lots of yellow grapefruit, the oils and its flesh, unripen peach, mango, honey dew. The beer finishes off with some grass, citrus pith, and dry. A light biscuity malt is a delivery mechanism for the hops. A bit of flavor, a touch of chewiness, but not much sweetness to speak of.
Next to Citra, this was slightly behind, but a world class beer that competes with familiar breweries in New England.

The only things lacking are little better carbonation and some more hop to the finish. Otherwise a super crushable juice bomb.

Canned April 2015. After consuming several cans ranging from 3 days old to 8 weeks old, I definitely recommend having this beer fresh or not at all. Not the same beer after 3 weeks and probably OH's shortest shelf/fridge life of their canned
That being said, fresh OH Nelson is delicious and well worth waiting in line for at the brewery. If there was a bit less dankness to the nose and taste, this would've rated as high as OH's Mosaic, GD, and AGE. Otherwise, the tropical aromas and juicy hops work perfectly with the sweet malty backbone and the dry hoppy ending.
If you manage to find fresh OH Nelson cans and plan to drink them immediately, you're in for a treat.

swung by the tasting room this morning to grab the fresh cans...enjoyed from an OH green diamonds snifter
a - brew pours a murky orange with a thin soapy head that didn't hang, but left spotty lace.
s - nose is dank citric orange juice. thick and rich and juicy...bitter. nelson.
t/m/o - really enjoy these single hop ipas. and nelson, well that's the rich dense thick awesome hop. this beer tastes just that way...thick rich, awesome citric blast. on the resinous side of the spectrum but not too much. nice bitterness...very drinkable ipa. dank and rich and full bodied. yum yum yum...ready for the next 23 cans.

This one is DANK. Super juicy with an incredible nose. It isn't quite as balanced as I would like though. It is a little too bitter for my taste buds. I would expect a regular IPA to be a little more palatable. Still good though.

Hugely hoppy IPA from Other Half that reminds me a bit of Heady Topper. Damn these guys can do hops well. The aroma has a big, juicy mango character with a black pepper edge. The flavor expands on the fruits with dry berries that turn to bitter citrus rind. The body is lighter for the style, but just balances the hops. It's maybe a half step ahead of the standard Other Half IPA. Great beer. I guess I see getting a little more depth from it though.

A good IPA, however I don't think it belongs remotely close to being in the same conversation as the GD'S, heady's, SOS, swish, or tree house cans. It was much better then the citra offering that other half puts out but that's as high as I would go on this one.

Picked this up at Other Half when it was released and finally got around to it tonight. I knew that this was one of their first cans way back and knew that this was the first time it was back out in quite some time. It had that early-on feel to it as it featured one hop and a relatively simple and light taste to it.
The pour to this was decent as the beer had a mango hue to it with more than enough head and a good enough amount of lacing that was left behind once I started to work my way through it. Lots of Nelson hops, tropical fruit, and grass in the nose with more fruit in the taste to go along with the somewhat dank and fresh bitterness. Some tangerine juice rounded this out as the beer as there was a balanced mouthfeel without any discernible type of malt. Not a lot of carbonation to this either as the lively honeydew and melon stuck around long after the liquid went down.
This was easygoing when it came to the alcohol as I could have crushed another one after this was finished off. It was a nice touch to have "Ha Ha!" written on the bottom of the can under the date of 1/20 as I love The Simpsons of old as this beer wasn't close to having a cow over. Worth a go once as a flashback to Other Half's single-hop roots!

This is not the most attractive beer off the pour. Totally clouded orange amber hue on it. When I pour the last few ounces from the can into my glass, it's a bright hued yellow. Overall an interesting grassy influence on the hops. Easy drinker.
